I wonder what the o/p does when commercials for bras, femminine hygine products, e.d. meds come on?

Faint?

Dam isn't a "bad" word.

He##, it's even in the Bible, for cryin' out loud!

In some places "da*n" is still considered a bad word, but you can't shield your kids from those things.  I guarantee you that if they go to school, spend the night with friends, go to parties or anything out in the world, they are hearing a lot worse things than that.  You can tell them what you believe is appropriate and try to instill your values in them, but shelter them from it......I don't think you can.

I see nothing wrong with OP objecting to Josie Maran's use of a word she doesn't want said within earshot of her kids.  It's easy enough for JM to avoid doing that in the future, it seems to me.  Perhaps OP wants her kids to be uber well-behaved, which is an admirable goal.  I like Josie, but she also wears dresses that are way too bare sometimes.  Just a bit more modesty would solve the problem.  No one's saying she has to wear turtlenecks with long sleeves, but she shows too much sometimes, IMO.  I like her and her products, but that's another thing she should tweak, IMO.

I'm not suggesting it would be OK to have the Hosts come out and talk like George Carlin (though I loved George, brilliant comedian and social observer).

I am 44 and I can't think of a single person I know, that considers d  a m n

a swear word!  What do some people say, if they slam their hand in a car door, lose  their wallet, or sit for 45 minutes in traffic?

I don't think any child has been traumatized by hearing d a m n. I also don't think it's realistic, or even healthy, to try and shield our kids from everything.

Theyre going to have to live in the real world; if they're that naive, they may have some real problems.

I do not find the word ****** offensive. Nor do I find the word hell offensive. I'm pretty sure the word damnation is in the Bible somewhere but I am not an expert on that but I do know the word hell is in there. Now there are other words that are really, really offensive and if I ever heard those on QVC I would never watch it again. I remember when I was young I said the phrase I swear. Boy did I get a paddling period after they paddling my father asked where I had heard that and I said the Cowboys say it on TV but I never said it again. Of course that was back in the middle fifties.

I think the point is, whether kids are watching or not, cussing, cursing, foul language or a potty mouth isn't acceptable in retail stores. QVC is a retail store, even if it's on TV. I might cuss like a sailor but I don't do it at work. Neither should QVC venders and hosts. It's not at all professional and should be considered a form of illiteracy. in my dam* opinion.

Josie has a skin care line which she demonstrates on herself as well as several models.  I see nothing wrong with what she wears and she looks beautiful in everything.

The Breezies model stands there with a bra on and that doesn't bother me either.

You can see more than this walking down any Main Street.
