Re: Jane and handbag presentations

First I have to say, telling someone to just turn the channel is rude. If that is what people want to do than let them do it but do not push it on everyone else.

Now about the handbags and Jane. It has to be extremely hard to sell a handbag, there is really not a lot you can say about them. The host has to use a lot of words to get through a presentation. Maybe the handbag show should be shorter and to the point rather than let a host ramble on and on about nothing.

Showing the shoes to match has never excited me as I rarely match a bag to my shoes anymore. I just want a bag that goes with everything.

Re: Jane and handbag presentations

Even though she can sometimes go on about personal trivia, I'll take Jane before watching a few of the other hosts. IMO, Jane's worst days are still better than an average day with some of the other hosts.

Re: Jane and handbag presentations

Jane t is in love with her own name. Constant bragging about her daughters and family is a turnoff- other hosts are more professional and do not do this to the extent she does, I am sure they have great families too. She does do a really good job in presenting when she focuses on the product at hand and not being too obnoxious!

Re: Jane and handbag presentations

I CONCUR WITH THE OP, AS FOLLOWS:

I am totally fed up lately with the lousy way the hosts and vendors are slacking off from really spending much time showing the interior details of the new bags, especially now that all of the prices are sky high. They spend forever rubbing the fabric/leather, describing zippers and things I can see, but seconds showing the inside so I can determine if my things will fit well, if there are enough pockets, are they open or zippered, divided, etc, ?????

I watched a video of Jane Treacy and a video demonstrating a bag I really wanted to purchase. It was a 4 minute, 36 second video. Jane monopolized the conversation, talked all about stuff that didn't pertain to the bag at all, was loud, had to hear about her day before, family, some old shoes, etc. until I wanted to scream !!!!!! The vendor just stood there holding the bag, not even displaying it's features, no one opened it until 4 minutes and

31 seconds had passed, showed inside for THREE SECONDS, and the tape ended at 4:36.

I was so angry I was yelling at them through my TV. I got so mad I refuse to buy the purse from QVC. I can get it elsewhere. Jane can kill a sale with her on-going incessant chatter quicker than any new host. Who gives a hoot about her life off air ?

If I have to pay that kind of money for a bag, they should hire people who can't speak and can just show the bag all over for 5 minutes, it would be more enjoyable.

I'll never watch a Jane show or buy anything from her EVER !!!Mercy, she makes me sooooo angry !

And her shoe shows with her nappy bare feet.....ugh ! I'M DONE!!!

Re: Jane and handbag presentations

I have to agree with the OP and others. Jane has been a solid fixture for so very long I believe she thinks of herself as very interesting to her audience. She may have contact from some old die hards , but I believe she now wears her welcome out with most of us. I often think about how her hubby must feel with that incessant chatter !!!!

When she acquired the new regular shoe show weekly I knew that would stir up lots of headaches!

I can't tolerate her for more than about a minute per day if that. So I can't watch any show she hosts, therefore I don't buy anything she sells. Sad really.

Re: Jane and handbag presentations

Unfortunately JRT believes that her, her family & her personal life are way more important to viewers than the item being presented... her medications need to be adjusted... have for some time now... wondering when...

BTW: I watch her because I'm waiting for the day that she has some bad news in her life, like a finger nail chipped, & she completely loses it... now that will be a great show!

Jane habitually tells personal stories and does dominate the presentations with them....she has done that for years. I don't watch her because of it. HERE IS THE CONTROL.....MissChristy.....JUST TURN THE CHANNEL !

I'm sorry, but I wanted to see those presentations and had been waiting to see some new orYANY handbags. It's necessary for me to see the presentation to determine if I would like a handbag. I normally avoid her shows, but not when it's an item that is important to me. I can't just look at the pictures.

Absolutely. Why should you have to "change the channel?" You tuned in to view a specific product and should be able to do so without the ramblings of a self absorbed salesperson. I'm sure QVC doesn't want potential customers to "change the channel. "

QMaven, thank you! I hate when someone responds with "change the channel." I've said before, that if we are changing the channel, then QVC is not doing their job.
