I have learned that if I'm ordering an item for a special occasion, I need to order 20-30 days in advance. Ridiculous!!

I was at UPS mailing a package to a friend yesterday. Small shop, all three registers open. In the 10 to 15 minutes I was there, there were about 20 others in the store with packages.
My very large post office often has literally a line out the door with customers.
Seems to me retailers and customers are mailing more and more packages than ever before. The volume must be incredible. The work load must be stressful.
No one likes delays. I sure don't have any answers.

I ordered the TSV July 5. It shows it's still waiting for carrier pickup. I called CS and she apologized but said there's nothing she can do or tell me about when I will receive it. I don't order much from QVC any more but I had a weak moment. I need to keep reminding myself when I see something I want. Last night I got tempted by Philosophy but I didn't buy anything.

The other issue here is that when orders are placed, they immediately show 'Processing,' with no allowance to cancel an order. If you have waited an inordinately long time for something, you shoud have the option of cancelling if the status shows that it hasn't even shipped yet. I am currently waiting on a top I ordered on 8/2 - the status says I should receive it by 8/18.....to add insult to injury, it's now on sale for almost half the price I paid!

@movielover Call Customer service.
The Q will give you a PRICE ADJUSTMENT if you ask for one - I have done this several times and they ALWAYS give me the price adjustment without any problems. Q will give you 14 days from the date of the receipt of an item to qualify for a price adjustment.
It is very simple: Just ask.

@movielover - you usually can cancel when it says "processing." It's when it says, "preparing" that it's too late.

Amazon has their own fleet of delivery vehicles. They are a completely different type of business (online only) and should not be compared to QVC.

Me too. Just received 3 Susan Graver summer dresses and it took 13 days to ship/arrive. What sense does that make QVC??? And, by the way, those 3 liquid knit, hefty dresses were squished, I tell you squished into a small size QVC shipping bag.
