It's called inventory control

I was a men's sportswear buyer for a chain of midwest stores years ago, so I know a bit about inventory control.  I checked out the duvet covers, yes there are that many, but sizes are counted as units.  The important thing is how are they selling in ratio to their inventory?  If this gets out of whack, what will happen is money gets tight and the inventory bills don't get paid.  Companies stop shipping to them.  At that point you have a downward spiral.

Could always sell and leaseback some assets for more cash.  Could be a move of desperation, no?

Aged inventory is a LIABILITY.   It should be sold to a job lot liquidator to minimize losses

How much of that is sitting in a QVC warehouse and how much of it ships directly from the manufacturer?

@Desertdi,

They already have it in place, and it's been active for many years.

Here's a link:

"QVC Liquidation Marketplace"

"QVC overstock and customer returns pallets are offered in bulk quantity in conditions ranging from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quality, or presentation samples."

This is probably why so much is now shipped by the vendor...

This is probably why so much is now shipped by the vendor instead of stored in Q warehouses.
