For the many ladies who don't know (or maybe even staff of QVC?) - Birks has a width indicator in the form of a footprint stamped on their footbeds. If the footprint is solid and filled in - they are narrow to medium width for US measurements. If the footprint is open and NOT filled in - the Birks have a wide footbed. Here is a link from the Birkenstocks website that proves my point.

Buying Birks without knowing the width is like buying a bra without a CUP SIZE. They have used this symbol for years. If you want to reduce returns - the ladies need to know the width of the birks BEFORE ordering.
