With respect, this makes no sense.

It would be nice to have the ignore button back, but they've said this platform doesn't support that feature. I don't actually believe that. I would think even the simplest and cheapest of boards have an ignore feature.

The ignore feature may stop you seeing certain posters but their posts would still be seen by others, including the Q social team, and the thread could still be poofed. Also, if the post is quoted by a poster you haven't blocked, you would still see it. I just keep in mind that not everyone will be in agreement on a post and let it go. Also there are those who post with the intention of stirring things up to see who takes the bait. You weigh in on those threads at your own peril, lol.

Is just MHO but I do not see the need for block/ignore features and feel fortunate they even bother with having forums at all anymore. I oftentimes wonder if forums will shortly become a "thing of the past" if it decends into needing "Jail time" (schoolyard things) as that can be deemed a form of discrimination depending on how one looks at such and the peronal interpretations of any post can be taken so many ways. . The obvious attack based posts aimed at anyone are mostly deleted and they have given time outs to some. How one takes these posts is very objective and certainly not an exact science....is all in how one takes the content or the poster..I guess as long as any posters comments are within the rules of QVC is allowed. Almost nothing could put my "knickers in a twist" so to speak and I take frequent breaks from any social media. It just isnt that important to me I guess. I will never stick my hand out to a snake knowing full well it will bite me..or even feed a poison snake (Metaphor) Some venues are getting rid of those features (having forums at all) or dont even bother with them at all in the first place if it is proven it does not at all affect sales.. (due to having to monitor them, the expense, software, brawls, climate of forums ect) Key is skipping over any posts/posters that get ones "happy mood" unhinged. We are adults here and always remember "opinions are like back ends, everyone has one. LOL Key is taking nothing personally that is not aimed directly and maliciously aimed at oneself. All that and the fact their software doesnt support such. Why wouldnt we believe that? (having it would sure be easier on the mods for sure) My crystal ball feels many venues will not have forums in the future.....sadly.

In all the years I have been here, I can only remember hitting the ignore button once by accident and once for a weekend troll to alert mods because of how bad that troll was. Ignoring people who are rude and condescending comes pretty easy for me. I simply go on and try to find someone more agreeable or someone who will listen without being being rude, angry, or condescending. Or, maybe I think they are just having a bad day and talk to them on another day. Life is just too short to sweat the small things.

Then maybe they should get rid of this website and upgrade to something better. I would love to block some people on this site.![]()

The only people that bug me are the ones that resurrect a bunch of old threads at once. They seem to have been dealt with.

IMO, a certain amount of "I wish there was a Block or Ignore function" is just a way of posting publicly "I don't like certain posters and I want a way to make them go away."
These same posters would still look at the person's posts, still report them and still make cracks about them - and of course would have to announce multiple times that they had or were "going to" block "you" - but you can tell by what they say that they haven't, it's just another way to say "I don't like you!", so...*eyeroll.*. Those who were around when we had an Ignore feature will know that's true, and how very many times it was used as a sort of odd threat.
Not saying everyone has that motivation, but really, how hard is it to just ignore someone's posts, or report them if you feel especially personally targeted?
We are all different personalities. No one personality should have preference; the standards should have preference. Debbie Downers have as much right to be here as Sparkly Unicorns. And I see plenty of Sparkly Unicorns that have posts deleted.
If I don't agree with a decision it might irk me for a minute or two, but I'm an adult, I deal with it, without expecting "mom" to make the "bad guys go away" so my playground is perfect just for me. IMO that's not adult.
Ignore..it's what the Big Kids do.

I totally agree with this; I would love to see the IGNORE button on this forum. It is sadly needed.
