IT Personnel needed on the community forums

[ Edited ]

It would help if there was an IT presence here to address computer issues as they arise.

@ MontanaWe have some participants who are very knowledgable and generously share information.  Were you speaking of employees?

@Kachina624, yes I am talking about QVC employees.  You are right, there are many helpful people on these boards, but there are some problems that can only be addressed by employees who are actually programming the website.

There are many glitches on this website that no one, to my knowledge, has explained: people unable to sign in; suddenly shrinking font size (this happened to me); being bounced off multiple times after signing on - to name a few.

There should be a central place on the forums where we can report the problems we are having.  That would eliminate the scattered postings and make it easier for IT to categorize the various issues. A win-win for all in my opinion.

A problem happened just now: while typing my post to @Kachina624, I was bounced off the board several times.

I was simply trying to go back within the post to add a word I inadvertently left out.

Also, although I selected font #4 at the beginning, somehow Kachina624 is smaller on my screen (iPad3, Safari) than the rest of the message.

In my opinion, this is the kind of situation IT personnel should handle.

I wonder if some of this could be your iPad?  I'm using an iPad2, with Safari and have not experienced any of those things.  I see where the Kachina is smaller in one post but not the other.  I've never been kicked off the boards.  Annoying, isn't it?

Re: IT Personnel needed on the community forums

it is typical on this website for some people to experience a particular problem while others don't.  And it is usually proven to be a website issue, not a device issue.  For example, another poster had the same shrinking font problem I did.  Yet most of you have either not experienced it or not posted on the boards about it.  Others could not sign in with their regular nics; yet I have never had this problem.  These are just a few of the problems the Community is encountering.

Whatever the cause of the problems, I think an IT team should man the forums just like the other QVC teams.
