This is directed to the PTB. What has happened to the QVC of old? The days when you anxiously waited until midnight to find out what the TSV was, and it really was a TSV, not a mere savings of $2.00 or $3.00. Where are the days when quality and Customer Service were the top priority, and not $$$.
My husband is self-employed, so I understand expenses, insurances, and all of the other things that come along with running a company. The one thing my husband has kept all of these years, as his father before him, is integrity, which QVC is sorely lacking.
Your company has become a "hard sell", with in-your-face hosts, screeching and yelling, lies, yes lies, "Sorry, this item has sold out and you will never see it again", only to see it a few days later. (Guilty, I fell for it) Hosts yelling to producers to "order me one in every color", interrupting vendors, or, better yet, speaking over the vendors, because of course, they must know the product better than the company representative.
Does no one read the forums and listen to the compalints of the public? We the consumers, made you what you are today. And what became a successful business can be taken away just as easily if you refuse to change some of the things that are going on. Do you not take into account the frustration some of your long time customers are trying, ever so politely, to tell you?
I turned on your competitor this morning. In an hour, I saw 90% of the products being offered with free shipping. And no, before you ask, they did not jack the price up in order to make up for the free shipping. A pair of stainless steel earring, $9.95, free shipping. Did I order, you bet, 2 pairs, one for me and one as a gift. My one question; if they, and others can do it, why can't you? There are so many websites that offer free shipping, what is the incentive to shop with QVC? None.
I, and many others, miss so many of the shows you have chosen to take away, Merry Memories with David, Peterboro Baskets, Tool Time with Rick and Dan, which I would watch with bated breath to find that perfect gift for my husband or dad. Now, we are given the choice of purchasing a flashlight, or the same screwdriver that has been on air for 3 years. What about the 50 in 50 tour?
I understand the rising cost of fuel, insurance and the other hundred things that come into play when running a billion dollar corporation such as QVC. Alas, it confuses me to no end when other places, such as Amazon, or Zappos, (which has a 365 day return policy and offers free shipping there and back) can do it but QVC can not. It leads me to one conclusion; greed. When I know, without a doubt, there are some items that a profit is being made on shipping and handling, I find that to be so dishonest. So, for me, one small person in the millions that shop at QVC, I can not, and will not, do business with a company that does not care about me.
I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors and am hoping someone sitting in those plush offices reads this and takes some of these suggestions to heart.
Thank you
