Yeah, how weird is that to shake hands with each other when they are already the best of friends. Horrible advice is what you will see here...dont kiss, shake hands, sure whatever, how about just casual friendliness.

@Imaoldhippie.  Since it happens everytime a new vendor is introduced and is very annoying to many people, I don't find it to be trival at all.  No other shopping channel does it.  Of course you could have just passed commenting on the subject since you find it so trival.

Rick is not a big hugger/kisser either.  A couple of times I've seen a female guest go in for the kill hug and he craftily eludes them.

I find it unnecessary to hug and fake kiss too. I hate to even bring up the name, but I am pretty sure this started with Lisa Robertson and the male jewelry vendors and then it spread to some clothing vendors. And then more of the hosts followed suit (not all, thankfully). I especially find it silly when they go right into a discussion of having seen the vendor in the green room a few minutes ago, or when the vendor appears multiple times in a show. It’s disingenuous, which is the opposite of what they are attempting to convey. Appearing fake is not a good thing for any salesperson who is trying to come across as sincere and trustworthy.

@Imaoldhippie.  I don't think it's trival at all when it's "in your face" with every vendor who crossses the set and reaches a host.  I don't consider a legitimate complaint to be whining.   It's extremely annoying and embarrassing.

@Sooner.  Nobody said this was sexual in nature.
