I don't watch that often because I check mostly online.  But I have noticed that Dan and Jill very seldom hug/kiss the vendors.  That is just fine w/me.  I don't like all the PDA.  They are selling for heaven's sake!  They've just seen them before the presentation!  And I especially don't like the sound effects.........mwaaa.  Yuk!

@Patriot3.  Dan just may be the phoniest of all.  Virtually every vendor is an old friend or pal from years ago; you can bet there'll be some connection.

Let me add my annual complaint about this custom.  There is too much transmission of cold and flu germs just by breathing the same air as a sick person. Why hug and kiss them?  Many people are ill before they show symptoms.

Well, the kissing I've seen is pretty innocuous.  Both women turn their heads so their cheeks are touching and then smooch the air.  It's really silly.  Maybe they're just imitating the rich and famous  - and superficial.

I think what is professional varies from setting to setting.  I accept QVC's choices because I think they fit into their goals for their presentations.

If I want a stand-offish business atmoshere - it's never when I'm shopping except maybe for a big ticket item like cars or major appliances -  and even then, a salesperson with warmth is far more likely to get my business than an uptight professional.

PDA?  Yikes I'm not watching at the right time!  I've never seen anything that made me think "get a room" or lasted longer than 2 seconds.  What shows do I need to watch for this to appeal to my purient interest?????
