@Kachina624  I have seen some of the hosts on both HSN and EVINE also do the hugging/kissing greetings. So it is not just the Q. I think it's rather silly, and as another poster on here has stated, it did start with Lisa R. a few years back, from what I recall seeing. Reminded me when she began doing it, of how celebrities/designers tend to do the same, and she was always trying to fit in with those types.

You hit the nail on the head.  Keep it professional.  It always surprises me how many vendors are neighbors of the hosts.  Connections, connections!  Many even talk of being personal friends and visiting at each others homes.  Makes you wonder if the host is gushing over the product because they are friends.  Never mind; they act as if every thing they present is the best ever - its their job.

I don't like the hugging and kissing and the male host calling vendors "sweetie", etc.  The kissing is so awkward.  New vendors just stand there and don't know if they will be kissed  or hugged or get a handshake or nothing.  I wish they would quit this as it seems fake and is unprofessional.  They could just say, Welcome XXX, good to see you with this great item you bring to us.    Then move along with the presentation.

I don't watch live presentations, but when I occasionally watch a previously aired show, I really don't care about their "welcome" air kisses. It lasts for about 2 seconds - why would this be a big deal? I think it's sometimes phony, but it's sure not even close to "hugging and kissing".

I totally agree!  I always hug/kiss on cheek family and friends.  This world is becoming more and more cold.  The poster needs to get over herself and find better things to complain about then this.

QVC hosts are more like talk show hosts than your sales person at Macy's. Just listen to the callers who feel like they "know" the hosts based on watching them sell things on t.v. That's the host's job, not what you or I feel is "professional". That's their profession.

Also, women tend to bring a warmth to any environment, including a work environment. I find it completely genuine, as most of the hosts and vendors spend a lot of time together on and off camera, whether attending business events, prepping for shows, or enjoying personal time together.

It's ok if they greet each other with a hug and air kiss, it really is.

The only really sincere kiss has been between Jayne Brown and Louis Dell'Olio. Those two have been close friends for a very long time. Their fondness for either other and his adoration for Jayne and her family is honest, gentle and from the heart. 

Jayne hosted Louis' first show following his return to QVC after Jac, his wife, passed away in 2017. It was a difficult and touching show, handled with grace and dignity by Jayne. That was the first time I saw them share a kiss. Today, they shared another holiday kiss.

@Patriot3 Rick almost never kisses either.  Like you said also Jill and Dan.  More professional in my opinion.
