@TY, That's a really good point. Another reason, too, that it would help for the really old threads to be closed to comments.

@dooBdoo, I think the old threads should be deleted. What is their purpose except taking up space. A few years ago, you would have some women bring up what you said in a thread. I could not believe someone would go out of their way to try to insult you. it was really ugly back then with the bullies. So childish. Glad the Q brought in moderators to tone down the harassment. ![]()

Who was the bully on the Women of Color thread? I will never forget that. So childish. catshouldfeellikebully.

After a certain period of time without a response (I think 6 months), Tripadvisor locks a post to new responses. I like this because one can still search the subject but old threads aren't able to be brought up anymore. I honestly think all forums should do this.

If someone wants to start a thread and it has already been around, the old thread will pop up. IF you try to start a NEW thread about the same subject it gets shut down for starting a new thread on an old discussion. So people open old threads for discussion.

Not necessarily...at any given time duplicate threads pop up all over the board. For example, just this past few days in TV and Movies there have been duplicate threads about Mama June's new show and Kathryn Heigl's show being cancelled. Other times they delete duplicate threads. Guess it depends on who is the moderator on duty or who started the duplicate threads.
