Just curious about hosts' ornate / showy fingernails.

They are really a distraction from the product they are showing / selling.

i just saw a host selling rings .... she had very long nails with bright white bright polish.  I can describe her nails .... but can't tell you what the ring looked like.

I agree.  Just give me clean, short neutral polished nails.  No distraction.

It seems the ones that have all the ornate doodads, such has glued on beads and filed to points are the ones with babies.  How do they not get them "soiled" when changing a diaper OR poking the gentle skin of their child?

How about those long red daggers coming at you with a piece of pizza? I'll probably get flamed for this but IMO if you are dealing with jewelry or food, or modeling sandals, you should have nails no longer than the end of the finger or toe and neatly done in a neutral color.

I suppose we have to assume management gives the hosts no  restrictions as to their nails. I know on JTV their hosts can have some length to their nails but only very light polishes.

I think in some cases nail art can add to the aesthetics of the jewelry worn. It's like an extension of the pieces themselves.

The thing that puzzles me is how the Moms with little little ones manage with the long long pointy nails.  I've babysat my great grandson 2 days,a week since he was born,he's 2 now.  I would be poking and scratching him with those nails. I wonder how they avoid it.

In years gone by, there was a host who typically presented jewelry.  I could never watch her presentations because her nails were always so distracting.
