I could probably do several presentations without cards by now as the Q keeps showing the same products over and over again.

I see the hosts on both channels using the cards a lot. Moreso for fashion so they get the colors and sizing right. I'm not sure what the OP is watching if she doesn't think they use the cards. It really all depends on the products being sold.

Just for giggles I pop over to HSN from time to time.
It seems with clothing items, they rarely give the amount
of details QVC does...colors, fabric content, pockets/zippers,
inseams. And that's the type of content which separates the two.
I kinda like the cards...shows they focus on accuracy.

In my opinion HSN doesn't give the pertinent information that they should on clothing items especially. They focus too much on cost savings, and pricing and not necessarily giving out enough info on their clothing items. So therefore I would rather see a host use her card to make sure I-the customer am getting the pertinent information I need in order to make a decision....I don't mind the cards at all.

@sidsmom, @CANDLEQUEEN, I would have to agree with you on HSN. Many of their fashion presentations are a waste of time because the info. I need to make an informed decision isn't given. It's all about the celebrity selling the line, where the item can be worn and how you can style it and little else.

In my humble opinion I feel the Q needs to change their format. I don't watch often but when I do it's the same old comments, same old selling points, it is stale. As far as colors which require cards to read, maybe they should just stick to regular colors instead of fancy names which I am sure is done as a sales come on. After all blue doesn't sound as nice as caribbean blue or whatever. I understand the need for size description and such, that is important. But sometimes the host gets so carried away with colors and design, they brush over description.
I do not have the answers as to a new format but I am sure there are changes which could be made just to refresh the presentations.

Cards are fine.
I'd like to challenge anyone to go in front of a camera with thousands of people watching and have to describe an item for 10 minutes - or longer - without a card.
