QVC is a large and well-run organization.

"Overkill" is just your personal opinion. Opinions mean nothing--results and data tell the real story.

I am sure that QVC has multiple studies and research results that demonstrate that when more than one host is present, the show is more successful with sales.

Probably because instead of the viewer hearing and possibly ignoring a monologue, the viewer can become more engaged in a dialogue or a multi-person conversation.

Many television shopping channels feature more than one presenter.

I am sure they closely monitor the sales amount raised per show as compared to host costs per show.

Hosts, whether singular or plural, rarely impact my decision to purchase.

@ellaphant   They're losing $$$ quarter after quarter...wouldn't it behoove mgt (making big, big bucks) to exit their world of "delusion and denial" and make some changes to try and boost the "bottom line?"

If not now, when???

. They have two hosts because the have the sales figure and so, they know what works and generates profits.

You can't argue with success. .

It depends on the two hosts they pair.  I am not a fan of having two hosts who talk over each other, interrupt or are rude but then that applies to one host too!!!  I only watch the Q when there is a host I enjoy, otherwise I pass and shop on the Q site.

If they were looking to cut expenses the first thing to go would be this forum where everyone thinks they are a business consultant and knows better than those running the company.

Publically traded companies are much more complex in what they see as success than just top or bottom line sales.  There's a reason they put together a 5 year plan 3 years ago.

@Tori3569   Well, you seem to know a lot about this subject.  How do you think the company is doing?

I don't mind more than one host.  I simple do not watch if the pairing is annoying to me.

The two that I did not care for are gone now.  Both selling for others and sure didn't last long on their own.  But I do thing the schedule and demands of the Q are high for the hosts.  Hard to have a life outside of work I imagine.

I leave work and I am done for the day.  No homework.

Q has been losing money every year for at least 7 years. One would think they'd do something to make things better. But they choose to copy the Groundhog Day movie while expecting different results.

Q's idea of entertainment isn't mine.

I enjoy hosts having fun but have zero interest in singing, dancing, personal stories, silly sales schtick, screaming, rudeness. and ageist themes. The more hosts and vendors on stage, the worse it gets.

Seems to me that QVC spends so much more on the extra programing it offers on their website with more people presenting the same items that it showed on the air.   Talk about overkill and waste.
