I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to say good-by to QVC. Before you answer this post and tell me I don't need to watch it anymore, please read some of my experiences with the "Q".

I have been shopping on QVC since 2000. Over the years, I have received many defective items and other items I just didn't like. When I returned items, I got the dreaded "letter" that many have referred to. They threatened to start charging a re-stocking fee and/or raise prices because I had so many returns. But listen up folks....

I have an Eterna gold bracelet (bangle) that is dented and scratched all over and the safety clasp keeps coming loose. I bought a beautiful Eterna gold rope bracelet as a Christmas gift for my daughter which broke the second or third time she wore it. I have lost severeal Eterna gold earrings when the fastener came loose (one earring was an 18 K hoop. Bought a Joan Rivers watch with earrings for the same daughter and the finish came off both pieces within 6 mos of purchasing them. I have had Joe Esposito pieces break the first time they were worn, and several different sterling pieces break (lobster claw closures) and other pieces break the first time they were worn. I had an 18k gold leaf earring break the first time I ever wore it. Enough for jewelry..keep reading.

Mrs. Prindable apples rotted on the sticks, Paula Deen spiral ham for more than $60.00 no better than any other Smithfield ham in supermarket, Balboa cake received with hole through top of plastic covering with a thumbprint on top of cake, Paula Deen cakes (gooey butter cakes) extremely overpriced, steaks and lobster grams extremely overpriced as well.

Cookware...have had several pieces of Cook's essentials through the years. One set in particular, the chicken fryer, a 2 quart saucepan and a dutch oven, scratched so badly they can't be used. Bought a Cook's Essentials coffee maker with coffee bean grinder...sent it back because beans would not grind. Many pieces of lock and lock...it didn't lock! Plus stained even though it was advertised not to stain. Flameless candle timers did not work...supposed to be scented but no aroma when in use. Royal palace rugs picked and frayed around the edges, Valerie Parr Hill's very small and not as pretty as made to appear.

Bought my son-in-law a change counter...didn't work. Bought a wine opener kit..didn't work. Bought a pair of binoculars with digital camers built in...didn't work. Bought several sets of flannel sheets...three fitted sheets thrown away because big holes wore into them. Bought several comforters and quilts...quilt stitching came loose when washed according to mfgs guidelines.

I have come to the conclusion that QVC does not sell top of the line merchandise...but seconds or refurbed pieces. Don't even get me started about a Kitchenaid mixer ($400.00) approximately and Rachel Rae items. Also bought a set of Gordon Ramsey cookware which has also scratched.

And last but certainly not least, an e-reader which needed mfg updates when sold. Now I can't return it and nobody can program it even though the company sent the updates to me. I am out of $200.00.

So, my Q buying days are over...I can do as well or even better at TJ Maxx and Wal-Mart.
