I love Valerie and all the hosts on QVC. Over the years I have purchased so many beautiful things. However, I am noticing the switch from "Christmas" to "Holiday", and from "Thanksgiving" to "Harvest" in reference to the time periord when an item could be used (especially by Valerie.)
I realize you may be trying to reach a different demographic or trying to extend the period of time, but it feels like we are losing the meaning of the holiday we are celebrating. It is almost offensive. It really is Thanksgiving and Christmas, not just Harvest and Holiday (both kind of meaningless to most of us.)

They will call it whatever they think will sell the most product. I think Christmas in July is crass commercialism, but it is not about me. When we all realize that this is a big country, filled with all different people, I think maybe we can forget about labels. We know what we hold dear, and I for one don't need a store to pander to me. JMO.

My thought on this is that in years past, Valerie used to sell specific Thanksgiving decor, specific Christmas decor, and specific Halloween decor. Now they have put it into general categories. Harvest and Holidays. I worked in retail for over 20 years and they found what sells the most and they are sticking with that. It's all about the money, an by seeing how it's always selling out, I'm sure they know what they're doing.

I got some scents today that will cover for 4 mos. the Fall/harvest time, with it's scents. And Holiday, might cover 1 month, but it'll also cover 3 more months and they aren't all that same holiday. So for what I got today, those two names, fit my purchase. JMHO.
The holidays are in our hearts and heads and many now celebrate differently according to their beliefs. So I do think, the Q is trying to include everyone.

Please....more Thankgiving decor. It is my favorite holiday by far.

It doesn't matter to me what they call it. I think I actually like harvest and holiday. I don't decorate or celebrate one day, I celebrate the season.

I'm totally turned off by Harvest & Holiday as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving ... in JULY.

I think everyone is trying to get away from connecting religion to holidays when selling. It used to bother me when Valerie would refer to the Thanksgiving table and call it the harvest table but I guess I have mellowed and realized I didn't care what others called things because I know what they are to me. My last few years of working in an elementary school kindergarten classroom the Easter Bunny was changed to the Spring Bunny! Now that just seemed wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how anyone can complain about QVC and the lack of the use of "Christmas" We just had a whole month of special event programming that used that word, and that offered many things that pertained to the day whether celebrated religiously or secularly.
There is Christmas in July, there is Countdown to Christmas. There was religious jewelry, nativities, Christmas card sets, Christmas trees. I saw Christmas everywhere.
And why not use the word Holiday some of the time? Many of the items being sold aren't just for Christmas. They are appropriate to use all season, from Thanksgiving through Christmas, through New Year, and on into winter. Same thing goes for Harvest. If it doesn't have pilgrims on it or a turkey, it really is for all season, for most of us from September through Thanksgiving weekend.
No retail naming the products or the shows or what dates they offer the programming or items for sale will make me loose the meaning of any holiday or season. I don't see the words holiday or harvest as excluding or diminishing Christmas and Thanksgiving, but rather extending the feelings, the giving, the love, and the fellowship beyond just that one or two days. I think it is all in the manner in which one wants to see it.
