So I'm watching HS and Alberti doing an hour-long presentation. May i suggest that Harry do his presentations alone? I understand they guy is the best/genius. But poor Alberti!! Harry gets a quarter in himself and is go...go...go! I can see Alberti trying to compose himself, but it's like to Alphas trying to get their 2 cents in...and their 2 cents really are good stuff! So maybe Harry alone next time? He'll be just fineSmiley Happy

Re: Harry Slatkin Alone

[ Edited ]

I've liked Harry's candles over the years.

Can't watch any of his shows anymore, just too over the top, and JC is a hard pass for me, as is the host you speak of here. Too, too much for me. But, someone for everyone. I just tune out on these.

Also, sadly, the last time I bought candles from HS, last year...no fragrance after one melt. (I use a candle melting lamp)...I returned them. Whereas, I still had ones left from several sets, I'd bought a decade before, that were burned/melted over & over, to the bottom, and fragrant the whole time. Much better quality in the past, as many things lately, and yet his prices on some things have gone up quite a bit...too much on some over $100. I don't care how big or how many wicks...it's still just a candle...over $100 is crazy.

So I buy others now...usually as clean as I can get them, with good ingredients, soy etc.

The only host that can get control of Harry's presentations is Shawn. She does a good job for his brand.

@amyb I buy a few of his Frozen Balsam candles every year. They do give off a lot of fragrance but I notice his candles burn quickly. I  purchase Yankee Candle mostly, good value when they are on sale.

There are vendors who should present their product on their own without a host.  I have seen shows where that has happened and the vendor is capable and does well.

I was at a friends powder room, they had his hand wash there, made in China with sulfates and chemical ingredients, truly a disappointment

That is very disappointing as hasn't he touted them as "clean"?  I know during one show he talked like there are mostly essential oils in his hand washes. Kinda deceiving IMO.

@KKJ  These are the ingredients for one of his hand washes. They also state, "Paraben, silicon and aluminum-free."

Holiday Spice

Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,
Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum), PEG-150 Distearate, Cinnamal, Acrylic
Acid/Acrylamidomethyl Propane Sulfonic Acid Copolymer, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, PEG-7
Glyceryl Cocoate, Disodium EDTA, Eugenol, Benzoic Acid, Limonene, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citric Acid.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

I often find his candles for a very low price at Ross.  I do agree that they no longer have the amount of essential oils they once did.  Same for the reed diffusers.  Picked up some in fall scents at Ross and the reeds were fragrant for a few days but I think the top notes wore off from the essential oil and that was it.
