Get Rid of 'Promotion' Reviews

[ Edited ]

For example, Granitestone cookware, and there are many listings, every single review says "[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]"

So they essentially received compensation (free merchandise most likely) for them to leave a good review....in view of that, why would I believe them?

Those reviews are worthless to me.

They're a useless waste of our time and the Q's data as they have absolutely no credibility.  Get rid of them!

@Kachina624

And actually those reviews make me suspicious, could they not find any positive reviews on their product that weren't part of a compensated promotion?

Re: Get Rid of 'Promotion' Reviews

Agreed!

When I see an item has over 1,000 reviews and then I notice that almost all of them were done as part of a promotion from another site, I keep on scrolling.  I don't trust those reviews at all.

These days I am only reading and trusting the reviews that say "Verified Purchase."  All others are a waste of time.
