QVC, please rethink your free shipping policy. I ordered an item several days ago and paid $5.50 shipping. They won't reimburse me even though it hasn't shipped. QVC is losing money because I'm not ordering anything today. Also, my new policy is to not buy unless it is free shipping. That's ok. I learned the hard way. I don't mind paying the shipping since I am saving money in the long run

Re: Free Shipping Reimbursement

As you can imagine, if they did that there would be no end to the free shipping. They have to draw and stick to the line they've drawn.

Although it can be a little frustrating that you could have saved money by waiting a few days, you do state it was "several days ago". I don't see why a business would honor this as customers would not purchase anything for days prior if they forewarned everyone that free shipping was coming up.

What I do is buy items that I know I would not regret should a FS day be offered or the price would be lowered. I usually only buy sale items and As Is so often I don't want to chance that it would sell out. In my opinion, it is asking a lot and probably too much, to expect a business to go several days back and reimburse you money.

As @Kachina624 states, there must be a line drawn somewhere.

I no longer Q shop but my policy would be to only buy on a free ship day.

Agree but that goes for all retailers.  There has to be "free shipping" at the very least with a minimum purchase for me to shop or a very big discount on the item, not the 8-15% QVC typically offers.

Re: Free Shipping Reimbursement

Free Shipping definitely incentivizes me to purchase.

Almost all of my non-food purchases are made on those days and I monitor and track items I'm interested in to see if the price moves.

Sometimes it has gone up, occasionally it has decreased,  but generally,  for me, it remains stable.

Whether there's a shipping charge or free shipping, I think you need to look at the whole price and decide if it's a good price.

Also,  consider the tax you must pay.

Example:

The same item is priced two different ways on two different days.  One day it's $15, plus $5 shipping for a total cost of $20.

The next day you see it for $20 with free shipping.

In the first example, you are paying tax on the $15.  In the second example, you're paying tax on the $20.

So, when including tax you must pay, you're paying more on the free shipping day.

Re: Free Shipping Reimbursement

I almost never order on free shipping days. I buy mostly clothing and a whopping $3.50 for shipping is no big deal, especially since so much sells out so fast.

Not necessarily, if you have to pay tax on shipping and handling too.
