It would be nice if the food would be offered in smaller portions so one person could try them.  Martha Stewart sides come in 2-2lb containers which makes it difficult for me to try.  Why can there not be 1lb containers?  Many food items are offered in individual packaging like steak but then the deal is on 24!  Years ago emeril had meat loaf with mashed potatoes in individual vacuum sealed packages and it was ideal for one person. Maybe Martha could bring back something like that in the future.

I so agree with you.  Yesterday on David's show there was an item I would love to try - but buying a large quantity and then hating it is a big possibility.  I also hate to call customer service and complain and they tell you to just throw it away - and will credit my account.  I'm sure some people take advantage of this policy; but I never feel comfortable doing that.

I agree that I wish they would/could do smaller portions or more samplers, but I think the bottom line is that it’s not cost effective for them to do it, and single people purchasing are only going to be willing to spend so much.

If a regular size is $50, people think the smaller size should be $25-$30 but that’s never the case - in a restaurant or any grocery store.

The manufacturer/vendor knows they can’t win.

Just to be clear....I am asking for smaller portions not less food.  Much like frozen dinners in a grocery store we can by the hungry man size or individual meals.  As a single person how am I going to cook a 2lb portion of mashed potatoes and have it not go to waste?  Emeril offered boil in bag single serve mashed potatoes that were wonderful...there were eight portions to an order.  I think the average price of food offered on QVC is around $50 which is manageable.  Steaks are packaged in single serve portions...not a 2lb  slab of meat.  Maybe Martha and st Claire can come up with a solution.
