Re: Faux everything!

Why are most things that QVC sells “faux??” This used to be the place to go for suede or leather jackets and shoes. QVC had cotton flannel sheets, quilts galore and wool winter wear. Now most everything is fake! If not for the Irish wool sweaters there would be only fake wool. Fabrics are mostly polyester or some synthetic fabric, even the shoes and boots are fake leather if not totally at least in part!! There is no shortage of leather, cotton, or wool so why is everything fake? The prices sure are not lower. This has to be a decision by the stock holders or those that they have hired. Really sad to see what has happened to this place.

Sorry but we consumers vote with our wallets. QVC sells plenty of cotton and wool/cashmere, etc. check out Isaac Mizrah. But there are plenty of mixes of materials for a lot of different reasons, poly blended with cotton makes it iron-free, non-fading colors, and little shrinkage.  Same for sheets.

Plenty plenty of leather; shoes and purses.

Cost certainly been one of them. Watch what goes on sale after Christmas it will be the expensive Cashmere, wool, Pima cotton, linen items that weren't bought because they were too expensive.

Or too much trouble to care for.

I just want a new pair of black leather loafers. Hard to find. So is a leather handbag. Now it is leather-trimmed, leather-like, or (my favorite) vegan leather...which is what,  exactly? To me, if it isn't leather, then it is some sort of plastic, and it costs as much or more than leather. Cruelty-free is great, but don't exoect me to pay $150 for a plastic handbag.

I don't buy clothes from Q because of all the polyester. To me, it's like wearing a plastic bag and hot year around. I prefer cotton. I also want cruelty-free products but hate faux leather so a leather jacket isn't on my list.

OP, you sound like an LLBean customer.  If you are not, check them out.  Plenty of natural fabrics.

I still have (and wear) real suede jackets .... one from Bob Mackie and one from Dennis Basso.

I don't mind having to hand wash and/or iron or sending stuff to the dry cleaner.  I even iron jeans!
