Re: Do We Really Need Two Hosts and a Vendor

Or do they need 3 vendors and a 1 host?  I'm talking about when Jill Bauer was on with the 2 Scott brothers.  Three of them standing around the bed talking to the host was a bit too much.  Don't understand why they had all 3 of them there.

I agree.  That is overwhelming.  I thought the line was going to expand more into home decor product and they wanted a ladies POV.  I don't understand why four people need to talk about bedding at the same time.  And.. why she needs to fly to the west coast for the presentation when she resides in the QVC area.  All the other vendors are Skyping in.  Rather confusing.

When you put two hosts together, for some odd reason, they seem to lose their minds.  Giggling, vying for attention, seemingly, reverting to high school behavior.  "Look at me", no, "Look at me" is what I feel like they're saying.  Forced laughter.  Cringe worthy.  Fake.

Don't get me started on Saturday Morning Q.   Those two have completely lost it and are unwatchable.

Speaking of hosts placing orders, they all appear to have their cell phones next to them and when the camera is elsewhere they place orders.  David did it this week and when the camera came back to him he was finishing up with his order and was so proud he got it in.  Others like Carolyn, Jane T. , etc. yell out "pls order this in size XXX for me"!  Very unprofessional.  They have the lineup and should be reviewing well in advance on coming on air.  Why are they not ordering prior to going on camera?

@Buster56   I would bet money that some hosts actually do purchase on air [sometimes] just as they say they are doing.  Yet some hosts use that as a sales tactic only.  If they like it enough to buy it, you should quickly get yours before they sell out!

Second, hosts have mentioned many times that they feel buying before shows is unfair to the shopper, so they wait to become shoppers at the same time as it's being presented on air.  This way everyone is on an equal playing/shopping field.  True or not, that's what they have said.

I wouldn't take any of these scenarios too seriously.

Re: Do We Really Need Two Hosts and a Vendor

I remember years ago when Pat D. and Jayne B did the am shopping shows on Mondays and Fridays from 6-9 (I think it was) and they worked so well together. Of course that was long before Covid and they each used to sit on opposite sides of the clothes bar and they were such a joy to watch. I remember how I used to hate to leave for work because I was I just enjoyed watching them. And I realize that I’m in the minority here but I think that Isaac and Shawnie Sue worked well together. But I don’t feel that way about Leah and Shawn because Leah nor Shawn need a second person to sell the items. And keep in mind that this is all MY personal opinion.

Those shows that have three or more people,is a disaster..Everyone talking at the same time, then all of them holding a glass of wine,it goes off!

Re: Do We Really Need Two Hosts and a Vendor

When Jane T was on and Mary Beth R I couldn’t hear a word that Mary Beth said. Jane was and s as sways is soooo rude interrupting the other host or even vendors. Jane would ask the other hosts a question but never ALLOWS them to answer or as the other host is explaining or trying to answer she just butts in. I can’t abc don’t watch any shows she’s on .. NO MATTER what the items are. I think they should take lessons from Amy & Adam (@ HSN) on how you co- host, or anyone who works with Dan (Qvc) Dan. Also another great pairing to learn from is Pat J & Jayne, they are some good examples

They are trying to outshine each other as to who is more relevant ...  my vote goes to neither of them ...  I've never been a fan of Jane T, but it just keeps getting worse and the "hurry up and order it for me" is a desperate sales attempt ...  go sit down Jane ...

Oh my, just flipped to QVC. And though I usually really like Jayne and Pat together, even those two paired with Isaac Mizrahi made for "can't watch television." Each one talking over the other is beyond annoying. Woman Frustrated When will QVC realize this? It's just a bunch of racket!
