Disappointed with delivery service

I have been a QVC customer for many years. I was always happy with their products, their hosts, their customer service and their delivery service, until now.

I ordered a Bethlehem lighted wreath Nov. 30. I received a message on Dec. 6 stating the shipment went to FedExSmartPost Dec 5. I was so excited because I looked up where the FedEx location was and found it was 2 blocks away from my house.  Surely it would be here on Dec. 6th. Nope, On Dec. 6 afternoon it was in transit to FedExSmartPost in a town miles away, ok-somethings wrong here.  On Dec. 8,  information went to the post office.  Then left the location at the next town and was in transit to my town-Hurray, I'll be receiving it Dec. 8. Nope, FedExSmartPost delivered it to the post office.  Geez, seems to me it taking the long road to arrive here.

I started purchasing some items from Amazon.  Their shipping is much, much quicker. I order and two days later the item is on my doorstep.

Maybe QVC should take some lessons from Amazon.

Re: Disappointed with delivery service

The last two items I ordered from QVC, they missed up both orders and I've spent a lot of time trying to get it all fixed and now I'm not sure I'll want to order from QVC again.  Like in the past I never had trouble with orders.  I don't know what's going on but I'm not happy to say the least.

Re: Disappointed with delivery service

In all fairness Q is not the only one with delivery issues.  I think all delivery services are swamped with holiday orders.

I'm waiting on a Kohl's order sent UPS.  It reached my state 12/7 yet won't be delivered till 12/10 as it's being handed off to the post office.

No matter who I order from, it is always UPS that is the problem. Once they get it to the P. O. it gets here quickly. But lately packages have been having "operating delays" and have been stuck in UPS facilities for days before even getting to my P. O. UPS needs to get its act together.

Re: Disappointed with delivery service

I responded earlier to a post about this same situation.  i've been very lucky, for the most part, with delivery of QVC orders.........until now.  Guess my luck ran out.  I have 2 items shipped on 11/30 with no status updates since 12/6.  C/S and QVC Social Team unable to give me any definitive information.  As a result, I canceled a subsequent order I had placed.  Not worth the hassle.

Re: Disappointed with delivery service

In years past i did not have shipping delays often.   It still is not frequent except holiday time.   My problem seems to be getting the paperwork and item to the shipping partner who then takes it to UPS.   My UPS terminal is 30 miles as the crow flys but of course more my road.   I live in a rural area with few homes.   If they are not to be in my area they deliver my packages to the USPS next door.  They bring to my PO same day and I get the next day.   So far this is the same schedule and it works for me.  With a company as large as QVC I wonder why UPS does not pick up at the their warehouse.   It can take days for the partner to deliver to UPS and this includes again papers that need to be forwarded.  I can drive 15 miles to town to a UPS pick up station and it is on its way the same day and I can track its travels.     Do these delays and odd routes have anything to do with the "reduced" shipping rates we are "privileged" to have?   I order on line from other sites and B&M stores and I do not have these delays.  My packages from others arrived yesterday by UPS on schedule with no rerouting.  ToysRUs was a day early on Monday.   At this time I don't dare buy any holiday gifts from QVC for fear I might not get in time.  If there is a problem there will be no time to exchange.  Monday I will be using UPS to ship a box out of state.   The week before Christmas is for wrapping, baking, relaxing and enjoying the season.

@itsmagic Me too! I am really happy with the shipping in the past few weeks. I got an email from QVC giving a summary of my orders (and any auto-deliveries coming up), and how many (too many!) purchases I had recently done. They all came faster than normal.

At a time when you could expect a slowdown in arrival times, it is better than usual.

I hope this trend continues after the holidays.

Thank you, Q!

Once it's shipped it's no longer in QVC's hands.   I've had more troubles in the last month than all the years of shopping online and it's not just UPS.    I finally got one order, but now I have another that is in town and out for delivery yesterday and this morning it's delayed.  My email:

"We wanted to let you know that your package will arrive later than expected due to weather conditions or unforeseen events. It's still on its way and we will deliver the package as soon as possible. We're sorry for the delay."

I can walk from one end of town to the other so it's not like I'm hard to find.
