I just saw Lori Grenier demonstrating the selfie light.  It does no good to flash the light at the camera.  It kind of hurts your eyes to look at it.  Instead, point it at an object and we can see how it illuminates the area and the strength of the light.  We kind of saw the illumnination when she shined it on her face.  I see this all the time all over the channels when the hosts or guests are trying to show the power of a light.  They aim the light directly at the eyes of the public.
