Dear QVC, Why the consistent, redundant, boring, routine weekend programming?

Is there anything we can do as viewers to change the redundant programming the Q offers up every Saturday and Sunday ?

This "Meant For Me" upcoming Saturday is nothing more than a routine Philosophy day, another overdose of the same day (Saturday's) , same stuff routine.

Your Saturday's are so routine and mundane, you are boring some of us to tears, and beyond .

It's not as if there are so many numerous products that it takes every weekend to go through them, and that bowl of making suds is as idiotic and boring as watching dust fall.

Why you can't be more creative, offer better programming, alternate your shows much more frequently is beyond me. Why Philosophy can't figure out a different way to demonstrate their products than having a camera focus on soap making bubbles (what a novel concept) also boggles my mind. Where is the creative genius of these advertising and marketing heads and departments that probably earn quite large annual incomes ????

Also , lest we forget, we can also look forward to the weekly same old computer programming. I's as if whoever is in charge of weekend shows is eternally off duty and someone just interjects the same shows every weekend ad nauseum.

Where is the creativity, the freshness, invigorating programming that should make you heads above the rest?

For many of us who have been with you for several years, myself since your inception, I can't take these weekend snooze fests so I'm not watching you at all on weekends, therefore you don't get any impulse buying from me at all. I would think those dollars add up listening to the number of people who complain about these shows and state they don't watch either.

I have stated my complaint and suggestions. I doubt if it goes further than my typing it here. It would be wonderful if if got some consideration.

I can only hope and pray others will voice their opinions until that time that, perhaps, when these dreadful weekend programs will be changed for the better.

Re: Dear QVC, Why the consistent, redundant, boring, routine weekend programming?

Not everyone sits and watches for hours on end. While this may have been commonplace at one point, most viewers probably watch in short bursts. Besides, if the items were not selling and producing revenue, I am sure they would change. If it works for the, why change? (It works for the other shopping channels, too.)

If this worries you to the point that you "pray" others will voice their opinions, you may be spending too much time worrying about a shopping channel.

You don't get my point, and totally misunderstand me. You also are assuming a great deal, and are reading a lot into my lifestyle and habits. You are also very wrong. Your point may be correct, but mine is as well. With too many Philosophy shows, for instance, on every weekend, with repeat performances and memorable spiels, it's hardy possible to turn on the Q for a moment , to see what's on, without tuning in to the same old, haggard drills. The bowl of suds, etc., and other weekend shows are on for so many frequent hours, there is a humongous chance of catching an eyeful of the same stuff. I don't "sit and watch" for hours, nor would I want to. But even if I check off and on, the same old shows are on so much that I can't watch at all on weekend anymore. Not enough variety !!!! Nothing refreshing, too much of the same old thing !

I wish they would create a lot more variety in their shows. They are a gigantic corporation. I would hope they could put heads together and do a better job, and not be so stale.

Is this concept so hard to understand ? That's all my thread is about.

How do you know most viewers watch in short bursts? They don't watch a whole show of something they may be interested in? How do you know how much time the OP spends worrying about a shopping channel?

As the CEO was recently let go/fired or what ever term you would like to choose, these approaches have obviously had poor results. Hopefully the ship will be righted.

I agree with you OP and too am hopeful that with the recent change in leadership we'll see some changes for the better and hopefully a return to more variety in the programming and a more diverse product mix.

I look at what's on the horizon for most weekends, and frankly anymore, most weekdays, and shake my head, knowing I won't be watching... or shopping. One assumes a TV shopping channel prefers their customers do both.

As a point of information, major corporate entities do not shuffle top leadership when things are going swimmingly...

Recent financials would seem to indicate things could be better, and some indications are that they are... for the other two shopping channels.

It might be worthwhile keeping these factors in mind next time the compulsion hits to critique the point of view shared by quite a few folks that QVC has become as dull as dishwater, and before making the assumption that everything is coming up roses, or, of course, they'd change...

I agree with OP. It's hard to watch Q so I don't. I can't stand the stand-up routines by hosts that aren't funny or classy. Humor is great, I love a good laugh. I just don't like the crazy dancing, inside jokes/comments, and goofiness. I don't want or need much of what they sell these days.

And the last financial report mentioned low sales in jewelry. I wonder why....oh, I know! It's cwap. Their gold buyer also needs to get a clue about what real women want.
