  Maybe they are expecting some to cancel their orders , however I think often their " numbers " of  how many they sold just might be based on how many have been placed in people's carts - that means the transaction of the sale  may or may not be completed .

Yes, they had said that the white had sold out in the morning and there were some available when I looked in early evening.
