Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

It would be nice if we could buy replacement silicone seals for your CE pressure cookers.

@Icegoddess

Sometimes you can find compatible gaskets on Amazon.  Search Cooks Essentials gasket. .

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

@SilleeMee I have done all sorts of searches for them, at least for the little 2 qt model.  Nobody else apparently even makes a 2 qt PC except HSN which looks to be exactly the same model with a different name.  At one point I thought QVC had discontinued the 2 Qt model, but Dave was presenting them today with lots of new colors, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.  I have seem mentioned on Facebook and I think even in the Kitchen group here that the gasket for the 2 Qt is not available.

HSN's Kitchen HQ version is also sold out and who knows if they will bring it back.

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

@Icegoddess - Have you tried asking customer service or the mods if they have contact information for Cook's Essentials? Being able to speak to someone directly connected to the product line might get you an answer if not the replacement.

Just as an example, a few years ago, one of the pots in the CE set I bought for my mom developed some serious issues with the nonstick finish; the set had a limited lifetime warranty, so I called QVC customer service and they were able to connect me to a rep for Cook's Essentials, which led to a replacement of the pot. Good luck!

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

@loriqvc no, there is actually nothing wrong with mine.  I would just like to have a spare.  Many PC's actually come with a spare and many people switch them out depending on the type of food they are cooking.  They tend to take on the odor of the food you're cooking.  Therefore, some people use one for savory cooking and a different one for other foods.  Mine began to stink terribly after a couple of times cooking green beans in it.  Simply washing it did not help.  I was finally able to get most of the smell out by soaking in a vinegar & water solution and then leaving the lid upside down after I put it back in.

I have seen others complain that you cannot get a replacement gasket and I wouldn't mind having a spare myself, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to suggest it.

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

After I finish using and washing out my pressure cooker, I always leave the lid off. I turn the lid up side down and place it on top of the base while storing. That seems to help with the odor.

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cookers

They probably figure the gasket will last longer than the pressure cooker itself.  The one in my stove top model lasted over 40 years.
