Cancelling orders

[ Edited ]

QVC should implement a time frame for cancelling an order - like a lot of other companies have.  Today I ordered a pair of Honora pearl hoop earrings mistakenly in sterling silver - meant to order the gold clad  - I practically immediately realized the error and tried to cancel them - could not.  Called CS and was told they were already shipped.  Right - from less than a minute ago they were shipped.  Yet other times I have cancelled orders later in the day and even the next morning.  I just think it would be more acceptable to treat all orders the same.

@FranandZoe.  I think it's because qvc has multiple shipping arrangements with multiple locations and then vendor shipping too.  I bet your earrings are vendor shipped as you can never cancel those.

No we don't believe they shipped in one minute.

@Kachina624   Good point - that makes sense.  Thanks for the insight - makes me feel better.

@FranandZoe  - I agree with that.  It would cause a lot less confusion.

With other websites I use, they state that an order can be cancelled within a certain timeframe.

Maybe QVC's logistics don't allow them that room to maneuver, with many things coming from the vendors and not just a warehouse.

But surely they could allow a half-hour?

As much as I try to avoid ordering from Amazon for a lot of reasons, just think about it, not only can you cancel things if it's still within their "window," but you can also add to your order if it's within their window.  In other words, Amazon allows you a fair amount of flexibility, and yes, QVC they are your competition.

Macy's gives you 30 minutes - I think that's very reasonable - generous even.

From my experience with HSN, you can cancel an order within that same day. So if you order something in the morning, but change your mind that night, you can still cancel it.

You can also cancel orders from Sephora. Many websites allow this.

I impulsively ordered 3 TSV pants that I do not need at 9:45 in the morning and canceled the order at about 5:00 in the afternoon.  There does not seem to be any consistency.  Sometimes I try to cancel an order after 15 minutes and I am unable to do it.

My experience with LL Bean and Target online is 1/2 an hour to cancel. Amazon is pretty good because at least for me I don't receive anything for a week though I'm Prime so I have days to change my mind and cancel or add to the order.
