Some items are immediately posted and can NOT cancel. It varies?? I was told this by a Q CS supervisor.

delaying processing for folks to cancel means my orders will also be delayed
that does not work for me

Only time recently I was able to cancel is when the item was on back order

Many items ship directly from vendors so cancellations would be an issue. And as said above, allowing time to cancel would push all orders back. Not what I want to happen

@Sunshine Kate - How about just being sure you want to place an order before ordering?
As others have stated, you have a very short time to cancel an item with the Q. Maybe 15 minutes.
If you're not sure about an order, don't order it.

Q isn't going to change their systems to allow anything that would help in this case. As companies do, they'll review priorities and this would likely not even make the list.
Very few retailers I shop with allow cancellations after more than a few minutes, if even that.

I've never thought to cancel an order. When I place an order, I'm sure I want it.

Although some items are stocked in QVC warehouses, the majority of items now ship directly from the vendors. To help ensure that customers' orders are fulfilled, and in as timely a manner as possible, the integration of the QVC and vendor ordering systems essentially locks down an order as soon as it is placed. It has been this way for about a decade now, I'd say.
Depending on the entity fulfilling the order, the customer may have just a few minutes or up to a day or two to cancel, but since there is rarely a way to confirm the source of the shipment, there is no guarantee any order can be changed or canceled after it has been placed. And there is typically nothing any service agent can do to help, as much as they may try, because the systems dictate the order terms.

What happened to the Cancel Order option? I've used this button several times over the years. I just placed an order and made a mistake and ordered the same item twice. I IMMEDIATELY went to my order page to cancel and there was no Cancel Order option. I went to the Chat option and the representative said she wasn't able to do it because the order went directly to shipping. Come on, QVC, that's ridiculous! It wasn't even 2 minutes. I don't want to have to pay for shipping to return an item I ordered twice - I realize it was my mistake but I tried to correct it and there was no option.

@Michelle2010 Call CS to help or the Social team who are great helpers. I did that once years ago on a backpack purse and was only charged once and fully credited for the other item when returned. I hope you can get this resolved. Sorry this happened. Frustrating!
It is Q ....sometimes able to cancel and sometimes items zip through. It may depend on the source of shipping and what warehouse is involved? I wish Q would state like Penny's and Macys do for ordering on line, for example, that you have 30 minutes to cancel an order or make changes when checking out.
BT W welcome to the Boards.. Some posters are helpful problem solvers and have good suggestions.
