There must be a new camera person or directions but lately the camera stays on a close up and stays there while the host or vendor is talking but you don't see the person, only half a hand or two moving around in the shot but no person.
This goes on for a long while.
A close up is a nice thing to show detail but then move on!
It's disconcerting when you keep hearing a voice with no body. An occasional still shot is okay, again to show details but not for most of the presentation.
When a crockpot was shown with meatballs, the camera stayed on some undone meatballs for a longtime while someone was talking. Then a hand plopped in a lot of sauce. That's unappetizing, not to mention boring and I'm sure thats not the intent of the presentation.
In a lot of Valeries shows, you can see her hands describing something for awhile but I want to see all of her most of the time or whoever is talking.
Also most of Valeries shows lately are so dark. Its one thing to turn down lights to see all the illuminated things but not for most of the set and even when the lights are up, its dark a lot of the time.
Not earth shaking concerns but if I'm going to spend time watching, I don't want to be
annoyed everytime I watch. especially if its a good host who is not shouting or speed talking!
And like so many have said, we know how to change the channel; I don't watch as much as I used to, but I would hope QVC does appreciate comments, constructive complaints and suggestions.

I've definitely noticed the very low lighting of the sets during decorating shows with illuminated items. I like seeing those items with the lights dimmed, but now it seems they are keeping them dimmed so low and so long that I sometimes cannot clearly see what else is being presented any longer.
I used to see where the camera and/or the camera operators had difficulty in quickly bringing the lights down. It took a while to get them dimmed, while the host kept prodding them to "please bring the lights down...can you dim the lights?"
Now it seems they keep the lights down for a long time. Can they still not quickly maneuver the lights sufficiently? Or, the producers of those shows think the set looks great in near darkness?

During the gold show yesterday, they showed far-away shots for a loooooong time without showing an up-close or giving any details.

Yes! sometimes it's too much of long shots! Just as annoying and so inconsistent.
They really need to work with the camera people with better instructions.

I agree, a lot of times the camera work is awful. Just how are we supposed to see a ring, bracelet, earrings from across the room? Maybe the camera-person is infatuated with the models? I don't know, but they really need to focus on the item being shown, and then the host or vendor and long shots or up close depending on the item. A little bit of education on these matters goes a long way.

I find QVC USA camera shots inferior to the QVC UK .
In UK it is so professional , you never see bits of the camers shown .Also they get really close when you need it and always focus well on the items .

What really puts a bee in my bonnet is when they show earrings! They will focus on the stand which the earrings sit on but show the model at a distance. I want to see a close up of the earrings on the moels earlobes to see if they are heavy, tug or pull down on the earlobe. This is a deal breaker for me. I cant stand heavy earrings, and the hosts will mention if they are light but never heavy.
