I love Temptations but I use a butter boat. I have for years. I collect Confetti would like to see Tara offer a three piece butter boat in what we collect. Her butter dishes are nice but I think the butter boats keep the butter fresher longer. I notice that ITKWD does not offer any butter boats.

I used a butter boat with a water trough for a long time.  Then I got tired of it and started using just a covered butter dish which I kept on the counter.  I noticed no difference whatsoever in the quality of the butter.  You might try it.

@Kachina624 i too just use a covered butter dish and leave on the counter.  Always have spreadable butter.  I have never had it go bad.

I kept my sticks of butter in a covered container on my counter for years with no issues. Then I switched to unsalted butter, if I didn't finish it up too quickly it went rancid. The salt does act as a preservative and it won't turn as quickly as unsalted.

I use a butter bell which is turned over into a container with a little water to keep the air out.  

I wonder if the food police have a problem with that the way they do over using water to keep guacamole from turning brown.

I once sent Tara a suggestion to make butter boats. Never heard back. The Q sold some years ago with beautiful patterns that sold like hotcakes. Never understood why they don't bring back big sellers. Tara also had nice patterns at the beginning that would sell well instead of the few she does now. Tired of the same old. I have a set with pineapples I love with green and mustard yellow.
