This should really be eliminated. All it is (for the most part) is "and then I read".
I like to know what a book is about before I read. Too much worrying about the plot. Just write a simple review.

People do the same thing with tv shows and movies. They recommend something but they only give the title. They say absolutely nothing about it. Not even the genre.

I don't agree. If I'm interested I Google the book or check it on Amazon. I don't expect a book report.

Agreed! I only need titles of books or shows that people like, and I can look them up and determine if I am interested. It's nice to have some ideas from people who like what they read or watch.

@Group 5 minus 1 I am just happy to have a suggestion. Since I can read and do have a computer too, it's easy to look things up.
If you want real indepth book reviews there are lots of places--like the New York Times Review of Books and a simple internet search to find reviews for specific genres and authors works well.

They should eliminate an entire forum because it doesn't suit your requirements.
Wow!
Maybe just avoid it and let those who enjoy and participate continue to do so. It seems to have met the needs of others for many years.

Agree. If you're going to recommend a film or show, please at least give a hint as to what it's about so I don't waste time looking it up.

What are we coming to? We cannot take a suggested book title and google it for ourselves to see if we're interested?
One of my friends does this same thing - posts book titles and whether she liked it or not. She'll state what genre it is, but that's basically it. I look it up online and decide for myself if I want to read it or not. It's much appreciated, and helps every time.

There are far too many LONG posts the way it is.
We don't need more.

Disagree Just give me the title and author and I am capable of looking up a synopsis myself. As a matter of fact I would rather do it myself. Sometimes people give away too much of the plot when reviewing a book. I like to know only a bare outline. Also not really interested if the poster enjoyed the book....I do not know you or your tastes. I look at the book forum regularly and have found a lot of great reads posted there which I might have otherwise missed.
