Better explanations for artificial materials

It isn't enough to say, polyester, on garments. Polyester can take on an entire range of feel. Is is silky-, jersey-, cotton-like? The hosts sometimes state this, but add it online. Also, saying 'knit' isn't enough. Just saw a 'knit tank' - OK, is it a sweater knit, cotton-like knit, jersey? I shy away from most polys, but there are certain fabrications I'd be happy to consider, but I DO NOT feel I need to pay S&H back when the online description was not detailed enough -- this is one of the values of online; you should be able to read more detail than may be conenient on-air.
