I started a thread in the Electronics forum, and now the Best Answer feature is available to me.  It's right under the heart, and I'm so afraid I'll push it accidentally when I mean to be hearting the post.  I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I really don't like this feature.  I find it very annoying.  I would never use it.  It's even kind of insulting to the other people who bothered to answer the post to give the Best Answer to someone else.

I've heard about that feature, but have never seen it on a thread I started. But you have a good point.....if that feature is right below the hearts, you could accidentally click on it. Smiley Sad

If you enlarge your screen, you can hit your target i.e. heart button easier.

I think this feature is not appropriate for our type of bulletin board.  I figured it came as a  package deal.

I'm not a fan of this feature.   Evidently it was disabled at first, and then gradually added to certain forums.   It seems to me, unless there's a clear, factual "right" answer to a question -- example:  who was the author of XYZ book -- it really is so subjective and not very helpful.   It's too bad we can't disable it in our settings, for those of us who don't want to use it.

I start an ongoing thread every month. This is a group of ladies who post daily regarding a variety of topics that have to do with our daily lives. This thread has been around a long time, and we have all become friends. Since I am the one who starts this thread, the Best Answer feature is there for me on every post. Yes, it IS annoying. Several times when I have gone to heart a post, I've hit Best Answer by mistake. Unfortunately, this results in that poster being notified by email. I post almost entirely from my IPad, so I try now to be careful by enlarging the screen when I heart a post.  We recently have decided to let our thread be ongoing and not start it every month, but that doesn't solve the Best Answer problem. 😟

@dooBdoo, I agree. I'm not a fan of this feature either and I really wish we could disable it in our settings.

In one forum, I've seen several cases in which an OP has started a divisive thread and then chosen one of their own answers as the "Best Answer". As you can imagine, fur flies.

@SleeplessinSD, I would be so annoyed if I were you. This creates unnecessary frustration for you on a regular basis and is a great example of why we should be able to disable this feature in our accounts.

I have a work around for you... but it does have it's drawbacks. For reasons unknown to me, I think that you are still able to select one of your own answers as the best answer. You could write a post that says something like this (and then select it as the Best Answer):

I've selected this post to be the best answer, so that the "Best Answer" option doesn't keep popping up every time I write a new post to this thread.

Now, of course, every time folks go to your thread, they will see the green Best Answer check... but since it's an ongoing thread with regular posters, everyone will pretty much know why you did this.

Best of luck!!

@SleeplessinSD, You might try an email to the moderators to see if they can disable that feature on an individual thread, since you know the thread will be long-term.   These are 2 of the email addresses the moderators have posted:  QvcCommunity@qvc.com and QVCSocialTeam@qvc.com.

Also, we could try tagging a few of the moderators to see if they can help out here:  @Brittany-QVC, @Eva-QVC, @Keyai, @Beth-QVC, @Community_Team, @Kim-QVC

@dooBdoo, thank you. I never thought of contacting a moderator for help. I will, and hopefully they can assist.

@bebe777, that's a great idea. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll give it a try....
