I’m always mystified by bad reviews on clothing items
because an item doesn’t look good on someone......people can review things however they want, of course, but I always think an item of clothing should be reviewed on the fabric, construction, how it looks after laundering, did it shrink or pill...things like that. To say something doesnt look good on a person so you rate it poorly does a disservice to the seller/manufacturer and does nothing to help someone decide to buy or not to buy. Just my opinion.

If the reviewer provides specific info re why it doesn’t look good, ie bust size and says the blouse pulls across the chest, that type of info is very valuable. Or if the item runs large or small—— if several posters share that—— I find it very useful.

I find it very useful and usually read comments before I purchase a clothing item.

It's all about the why....if you buy a shape that is not going to look good on your body, the designer should not be shamed.  The buyer's fault for bad judgment.  But I think we can sort through reviews fairly easily to determine where the blame lays.  Reviews are very helpful for purchases, especially when you don't have the luxury to touch and see before buying.

Maybe I'm behind the times, but reviews usually don't deter me from buying a clothing item which is appealing to me in looks.  Sure, there have been instances where after I see it and feel somethng for myself I agree with the reviewers, so I realize that the reviews can be a valuable assistant in making purchasing decisions.  I think including how the item looks on you is a integral part of the review.  Fit is the key element for the number of stars when grading an item.

Some reviews are no help. If someone says a top is cliggy, I look for similar comments.  If it's the only comment saying that and the others say something totally different, I bypass it.

I'm rather surprised at all the bad reviews of items.  Not just at QVC at all the websites where I shop.  Cosmetics, home items, clothing, etc.--so many negative reviews.  Maybe people feel they should state that to help other shoppers.  Also, on some sites someone will give a negative review for a lipstick (for example), but it doesn't show which shade they purchased so the review  is of no help.  Of course the store should remedy that by having reviews be more specific about the items.

When a host and vendor tell a customer their clothes will make them look taller and thinner, I don't thinks it's a wonder that people take the product to task when it doesn't. All those other features of the product are moot if the clothes don't fit or look good on you.IMO

When a host/vendor says a clothing item looks good on every body type they should be called out on it.  That comment is said just to sell more, more, more.  I have ordered this type of garment more than once, just to be disappointed and upset at being lied to again.  As much as I may love the style or print, I know when I don't feel good in it, and again, it's a waste of money when sending it back.  So I don't feel sorry for any negative review when the review is honest.

I think it’s useful feedback if it’s elaborated on.
