Re: Week Four of the NFL Regular Season!!!

[ Edited ]

Here's my picks....

Breakfast with JETS/DOLPHINS----Both teams looked pathetic last week---flipping a coin and going with THE DOLPHINS!

Texans/Falcons---Atlanta is playing well and are on a roll......Texans are struggling and a sign they are playing so bad is that they did not even show them here in San Antonio and usually they are the AFC Team that gets televised.....gotta fo FALCONS!  JJ Watt needs some help!

Giants/Buffalo--- I'm going with Bills and hopefully Rex's defense will be able to put pressure on Eli, and shut down WR Odell and their RB Jennings.....going with THE BILLS!

Da Raiders/Da Bears----Raiders are on the upswing (of course the team they beat last week was the Browns)--still they are improving....Meanwhile, things aren't going so well for the Bears----they haven't won a game yet---gotta go with Da RAIDERS!

Chiefs/Bengals---Gotta go with my cat Figgy's team THE BENGALS they are on the role, and the Chiefs didn't look very good against the Packers!  I was expecting more out of the Chiefs D!

Jags/Colts-- Andrew is nursing a sore shoulder and the Colts defense has been dreadful---forget Luck's passer rating, as one analyst said---don't blame Andrew blame the subpar personnel he has around him...and I agree.....Still what to do with this game---I just can't go with the Jags, thinking some how the ship will be righted by Andrew and going with THE COLTS!

Panthers/Bucs---Cam Newton surprised a 10 yr old dying with cancer not expected to make it until Halloween, so his parents threw him a Halloween Party (the boy's favorite holiday)...Cam found out about the situation and showed up to the party and brought along some ice cream and other treats to make the boy's day! ...WTG Cam!!!!  How can you go against a guy that did that (and not just for publicity either)....versus a QB  that stole crab legs and did other terrible things while in college! I'm going with the GOOD QB and the PANTHERS!

Eagles/Redskins---battle for last place in the NFC Least!!!....err  NFC East!!! Always a tough battle!!!!  The Redskins Capt Kirk has an 81 passing rating!!! WOW who would've thunk it.......Capt Kirk needs to get the ball to the WR's and the WR's need to make some catches....The Redskin's defensive front have been playing better, but the secondary is pathetic to put it mildly....then there's the special teams which always manages a few points for the opponent (ROLLING EYES).....The Redskins have a good running game with Morris and Jones (sounds like a law firm).....The Redskins can't afford to make stupid mistakes!!!!  Looks like 56% chance of showers, which may favor the Redskins running game.....I agree with Gardeman something is out of sync with Bradford---I'm PRAYING my REDSKINS will prevail (sorry Gardenman)!

Browns/Chargers---Is the Brown locker room divided and players want the coaches to go with Manziel---who knows in the wacky world of the Cleveland Browns.....The Chargers didn't play very well last week---but will go with THE CHARGERS in this one!

Rams/Cards---I think the Cards ARE the best team in the NFC right now!!!! They gotta keep Palmer healthy to continue their winning ways.....I'm definitely going with THE CARDS!!!

Vikings/Broncos--Looks to be a good game.......the game is at mile high.....I think Peyton and his Omaha plays will prevail against AD and the Vikes---BRONCOS!

Pack/49ers----Aaron Rodgers and those vocalists Clay Matthews and company -(watch the movie Pitch Perfect 2 to see what Im talking about) were certainly "licious" on the field against the Chiefs---the 49ers don't stand much of a chance---PACKERS!!!!

Cowboys/Saints---Let's see there's Weeden against an ailing Brees......Is Brees enough with a weak Saints defense.......Some how I see the COWBOYS prevailing---and yes I DID actually type that ---OUCH!!!

Lions/Seahawks----Seahawks have superior talent just gotta go SEAHAWKS!!!

Very UGLY, but a win is a win. YAY!

Justin Tucker is not only an excellent kicker, but he sings opera too! (local Royal Farms commercial).

@seehorse---Wow who knew the Ravens kicker could really sing!!!

Re: Week Four of the NFL Regular Season!!!

Luck is still questionable for today's game.Seems that this will be a last minute decision. MRI showed a bruised shoulder, and Luck had limited practice. The Colts signed QB Josh Johnson from Cincinnati as back up, but Hasselbeck would be the one playing if Luck isn't available. I still anticipate a win, no matter who the quarterback is. Jacksonville just hasn't looked good. Bortles has been OK, but the rest of the team has had problems.

Also, what was up with Scobee? He made 50 plus yard field goals against the Colts several times when he was with Jacksonville, but missed two on Thursday night. Granted, Heinz Field is a tough place for kickers, but that wasn't like him.  He usually has been very accurate. Then Tomlin didn't even trust Scobee enough to try for a winning field goal, and the team cuts him. Strange situation.

I like being able to watch football at 9:30 in the morning. Full day of football.

@teganslaw  Hey TEGAN!!!!  Isn't it wonderful breakfast and NFL at the same time!!!!  A full slate!!!!

That whole scenario with the Steelers was weird and the playing decisions....of course I don't like (and that's putting it mildly) the Steeler's backup QB --- just can't forgive what he did!  And I question his sincerity regarding his "apology".....I think it was more he was sorry he got caught---JMHO!  I never had a problem with the Steelers until they brought you know who aboard!

My Redskins cut the kicker and went with an unproven---nothing like beefing up our already questionable Special Teams!!!

Poor Andrew and that shoulder----Chuck will keep the Jags guessing and they will have to prepare for either Luck or a backup......Hasselbeck is a proven veteran....so I think the Colts will still win!!!

Enjoy the games TEGAN!

Re: Week Four of the NFL Regular Season!!!

Pretty much ever kicker has trouble in Heinz Field. The design of the stadium makes even routine kicks an adventure. One of the Eagles kickers a few years ago said he kicked three ball's from the same spot and thought he hit all three identically, but one was wide left, one was wide right, and one went right down the middle. The coach asked him at what range was he comfortable kicking from and he told the coach, "None." I suspect more teams go for a first down on fourth and short in that field than anywhere else.
