I wonder if Jacksonville will be more revived with Meyer gone. Darrell Bevell will take over as interim coach for the rest of the season. Meyer overlooked James Robinson, the team's top RB, and also had a run in with WR Marvin Jones. Khan showed more patience with Meyer than he deserved. Bad choice in the first place.

@teganslaw

Sounds like Meyer created an awful locker room atmosphere which wasnt conductive to winning at all....A bad hire by Shadid for sure!

Re: Week Fifteen of the 2021 NFL Regular Season!!!

The Chiefs got the win last night, but the Chargers left a lot of points on the field and should have won. Dropped touchdown passes. Failed fourth-down conversions when well in field goal range. Just dumb stuff that costs you games.

Back to Urban Meyer. He's a good college coach where he's the god-like figure with all of the power, but you can't treat grown men like you treat high school and college kids. There has to be a level of respect and trust, no matter how big of a knucklehead some of the players are. Meyer's record shows he knows how to coach a football team, but his record in the pros shows he doesn't know how to relate to grown men.

Re: Week Fifteen of the 2021 NFL Regular Season!!!

The only Colt ruled out for Saturday is Antwaun Woods. Ryan Kelly is questionable.

Amazon wants to take over "Manningcast" when their contract with ESPN ends. Amazon already will have Thursday Night Football, and they would like the Mannings to be the alternate broadcast. ESPN would have the first choice to renew, but if the money is right and things worked out, the Mannings could decide to go with Amazon in 2023. Something to keep an eye on.

The Chargers had so many opportunites and should have won the game.

You both said it so well, the Chargers left all those possible points and instead took too many chances and it cost them a win (to me they outplayed the Chiefs)....However, keep in mind the Chargers signed my WFT long time kicker, Hopkins who has a problem with accuracy so there may have been a method to the Charger's "madness".....

Have you heard the saying just when you thought it couldnt get any worse.....well now it has.....Heinicke is now joined Kyle Allen on the Covid list, and the WFT has signed Garrett Gilbert as QB, Gilbert played for Scott Turner in Carolina....AND the WFT/Eagles game has been moved to 7PM ET  TUESDAY .....  @gardenman  that gives the Eagles a short week to prepare for the Giants, but it also gives Jalen Hurts more time to heal....

The Raiders/Browns game has been moved to Monday!

The Rams/Seahawk games will also be moving to Tuesday.....

Both Tuesday games will be on Fox and The Ticket......check your local listing to see what game will be broadcast in your area....both games are scheduled for 7PM ET.....

@Spurt

The Eagles aren't happy about the moved game. We're geared up for Sunday and now everything changes. In the preseason the NFL made a point that a team that couldn't field a team due to Covid would have to forfeit. Now they change the rules. The very short week to the Giants game is an issue.

Re: Week Fifteen of the 2021 NFL Regular Season!!!

I kind of blame myself for the Tuesday game. I started out this thread by saying the NFL was testing us when we said we couldn't get enough football. They likely thought, "Hmmm...we're giving them a Thursday game, two Saturday games, Sunday games, and a Monday game. What more could we do? A Tuesday game? Sure! Let's give them a Tuesday game!"

The good news is I can now watch the Cowboys/Giants game on Sunday now.

Re: Week Fifteen of the 2021 NFL Regular Season!!!

It's game day!!! (The second of five (so far) this week.) We were supposed to have two exciting games today, but the NFL in their all-seeing wisdom decided, "You don't deserve two games on a Saturday, so we'll move the Raider/Browns to Monday at 5:00 PM where it's inconvenient for everyone! Ha! That'll teach you!" Sure, they blame it on Covid, but it's not like Covid's going to disappear over the weekend. Nope. They're just upset we weren't grateful enough to have two games on Saturday. Oh well.

We still get the Colts/Patriots game tonight. (Go Colts!) If Carson Wentz survives the first quarter of the game, it'll give the Colts' first-round pick to the Eagles in the 2022 NFL draft thanks to the terms of the trade sending Carson to the Colts. I'd love to see the Colts win and get in the playoffs and do well.

The Sunday schedule lost the Eagles/WFT game and the Rams/Seahawks games which are both now being played on Tuesday night. Lucky Eagles, they now get to play three division games (WFT, Giants, WFT again) in just thirteen days! Eagles players foolishly stayed out of trouble over the bye and stayed healthy while the WFT was a bit more casual and lost 23 (or so) guys to Covid. All the NFL chatter back in July of "We're not postponing games this year! You need to keep your team healthy!" seems to have been forgotten. No one seems to know what will happen if multiple Eagles' players come down with Covid on Monday. Does the league delay things yet again or do we now have to forfeit despite being ready to play on Sunday?

So, at this moment, we have the Colts/Patriots tonight. Most of the planned Sunday games on Sunday. Two games on Monday (Raiders/Browns at 5:00 PM ET and Vikings/Bears at 8:15 PM ET.) Two games on Tuesday (Eagles/WFT and Rams/Seahawks both at 7:00 PM ET.) If the health of teams doesn't improve we could see more changes yet. The league's "we're not postponing games this year!" mandate has been thrown out the window.

I'm annoyed as I was planning my lucky meal for Sunday's game. We've won every week when I've eaten this meal for lunch on a game day and do I still eat it on Sunday or postpone it to Tuesday? Curse you NFL! You make everything so complicated!

Speculation is that the WFT has dirt on good old Roger Goodell which is why the NFL suddenly abandoned their "set in stone" Covid policy of not moving games. The league also reviewed a gazillion emails from the WFT and managed to only find issues with those sent by Jon Gruden who wasn't even on the WFT. Uh, okay. And the league, which has been known to give detailed reports on every investigation they've ever done, decided, "We don't need a formal report on what happened with the WFT more or less prostituting out cheerleaders and trading nude photos of them, or the endless harassment of other women in the organization. It's all in the past. Bygones and all of that." For a league that released an enormously long and detailed report on ball inflation (or lack thereof) regarding Tom Brady, the lack of a report into the WFT investigation is odd.

Oh well, it is what it is. At least we still have one game tonight.

Re: Week Fifteen of the 2021 NFL Regular Season!!!

@gardenman ,you admitted that you're responsible for the NFL moving games. Woman LOL Maybe you should have your lucky meal Sunday and Tuesday. That way you would have extra protection for your team.

LB Bobby Okereke is dealing with a non-Covid illness, so status is game time decision. Zaire Franklin was palced on the Covid list, haven't heard if he's released from it.

The Patriots will be missing their top RB Damien Harris. The #2 RB, Rhamondre Stevenson, is just as good, so it won't help the Colts much.

The Giants signed former Cowboy Jaylen Smith. That could give a boost to their  defense.
