I didn't post a link in a thread a few days ago but copy and pasted a picture and info and then saw that html message that things had been removed and if satisfied to post and so I did. I've seen that message a lot and things seemed fine.
But this time a message from moderator said links removed. Risk of being banned. Yikes.
I still didn't get it after emailing the social team and asking. How can I tell if there are links if I don't post a link.
I don't know what hyperlinks are either.
I'm just going to not post things from other retailers or things as much as possible because I don't know what I did wrong or any different then I usually do either.
It's all too confusing.
It can be confusing, and frustrating, for sure.❤️
The message in red about HTML (I forget exactly what it says), that sometimes pops up when we try to submit a post, doesn't strip the hyperlinks out for us.
It's more of a warning to us, for us to edit the content, and for us to remove links, images, or other problematic content, before we submit the post.
For sure, it can be less than clear. 🙃😉😊
I still think the best bet, especially if we've copied text or images from another site and then pasted them here, is to tap/click on the text and images immediately after we submit our post...
and then we can quickly edit the post if it turns out that we inadvertently included live hyperlinks.
Just takes a minute or two, and (for me, anyway) worth it to avoid finding replies or threads gone, vanished because we included active hyperlinks.
Glad to see this discussion here, hope it will be helpful. Have a lovely, peaceful evening, everyone!🌻

That's correct, @on the bay. 😊

Thank you. That's good to know.
Now that I know you can't always see them or have the removal message remove all of them, I won't post passages or whatever.

Often they will show in a different color (like blue) from the rest of the body of the text. I always test them to see if they are live. If so, I delete the word(s) and type the same word(s) in myself which then deactivates the link.

Thank you- I never knew any of that.
But aren't you afraid of potential viruses when clicking on the hyperlink to see if it is live?

I'm very careful about what I click on. I limit the sites I go to knowing all are legitimate. I also take into consideration the article itself before clicking on anything.
I wouldn't do that if I was one that randomly visited several unknown websites.
When I'm not sure if the word or phrase is a live link, I just automatically delete the colored text and type in my own without clicking. Potential problem solved.
ETA: It seems like the new forum rule is that no live links are allowed. So the easiest thing to do to keep your post from being deleted is to eliminate the links within the text before posting. No need for testing to see where the link takes you.

Thank you so much. You explained it all so well!

@Beth-QVC and everyone else who answered my question,
Thanks so much for the help, advice and information. I THINK I know what not to do anymore.
I'm going to try starting up the baseball thread again and still post info, just not a live link.
I learned a lot today from all of you. Thanks for your patience!
Wish me luck!

Hey good thread!
Been seeing post replies & also sometimes the entire whole threads getting poofed due to "live links, please do not post live links".
I mean do posters not know by now to stop getting their threads poofed & also getting other posters threads poofed for having links?
🤷♀️

Also saw where Susan-QVC wrote "Outside link. Against standards, will result in banning if this continues."
