Hi @Beth-QVC 

I read why my baseball thread was deleted. I just don't know what a live link is???  

Can you explain what I posted that is not allowed, so I don't post it again? 

I'm sorry for posting something that is not allowed.

@dmod nj,  unless Q had their own definition a live link is one that you can just click on and go to the site.  If you remove the https:// (and www. if included) the link is no longer live.

@dmod nj.  Such links often have added retail information for other sellers or other inappropriate  advertising making them violate board standards.

i have been late to the 2024 thread and i need to talk about my orioles. LOL

if you want to post a link, just put the title of the article and where it is found OR post the link so people cannot click on it, but can still get there by copying and pasting.

A live link is one that you just click on and it takes you to an external site. We ask that posters do not post live links as this is a way of keeping virus and malware out of the community.

I don't understand it either.

I didn't post a link in a thread a few days ago but copy and pasted a picture and info and then saw that html message that things had been removed and if satisfied to post and so I did. I've seen that message a lot and things seemed fine. 

But this time a message from moderator said links removed. Risk of being banned. Yikes.

I still didn't get it after emailing the social team and asking. How can I tell if there are links if I don't post a link.

I don't know what hyperlinks are either.

I'm just going to not post things from other retailers or things as much as possible because I don't know what I did wrong or any different then I usually do either.

It's all too confusing.

Also, I think it's worth noting that if the link already is embedded in the text, editing out the "https://" and "www." doesn't always work.

In addition, there are the hyperlinks embedded in other words which don't display the actual URL.

The real test is to be sure there's nothing in the post that takes us to another website if we tap or click on the words (or images) in the post.  

(Images also can contain embedded "live" hyperlinks.)
