Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

So far, so good at the Eagles' rookie minicamp. In addition to the two UDFA (undrafted free agent) safeties, they brought in nine rookie DBs for a look. A few of those guys will likely get signed. Former Eagles' kicker David Akers' son is in camp, also trying out as a punter. With eight open roster spots, a few more kids will get signed after the rookie minicamp. The safest kid right now is the long snapper Rocco Underwood. He's the only long snapper on the roster, so he's got some decent job security, as long as he's not horrible. The name Rocco should help him some.

You're hearing more and more whispers that Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez will be part of the AJ Brown trade. The Patriots exercised his fifth-year option, and he's expected to get a new deal north of $31 million per year. AJ Brown signed a three-year $96 million deal, so $32 million per year. Kind of an even swap contract-wise. Gonzalez was in Philly for Devonta Smith's softball game. Unusual for a guy not on the Eagles to play in that. He's hinted on social media to expect news in June.

It feels like a lot of stuff has gone on behind the scenes with the Eagles and Patriots, and we all have to wait until June to get the answers. AJ Brown knows what's happening. Christian

Gonzalez seems to know stuff. The rest of us are just guessing.

Another Sunday without the NFL, but we're getting closer! We're into May. June isn't far behind, then July and the start of training camps. August brings preseason football. By the way, there's a website called nflcountdown.com that tells you how long until training camps (79 days as I type this), preseason games (95 days), the regular season (130 days), playoffs (251 days), and the Super Bowl (280 days).

Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

@Spurt - OMG, infuriates me with those times!!  Of course I'll be lucky if I can stay awake to halftime but that's it!  The only game to my advantage will be Sunday, as even if I work that day, I'll be home and will finally get to see an entire game!

Thanks much for the info!  Oh, and loved your comments on the other Forum I gave you hearts on!
