Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

I recall the criticism  Tim Tebow received from the media and general public. He is a Christian and got all kinds of hate because he kneeled and demonstrated his views. Tony Dungy also is criticized for his religious views. Seems that the media people don't care about honorable, decent players. They aren't as interesting and don't make the headlines like the bad boys do.

Tom Grossi has a video April Fool's Day in the NFL. Worth checking it out. I especially like the Raiders thoughts.

@teganslaw

I remember reporters interviewing David Robinson and the minute David mentioned his faith you could feel the reporter's negativity and how uncomfortable they were right thru the TV...And funny how all the athletes turned on Luke Kornet just because he said he didnt think it was a good idea for the Atlanta Hawks to have a strip club NBA promo night!!!....who would've thought he's receive that negative reaction from around players in all sports leagues, at least NBA Commish Adam Silver agreed with Luke and it got canceled....the men could still go to the strip club on their own, but the NBA just wouldn't be there to justify and sanctify their porn event 😂

I'll have to check out Tom's video he's taken a long vacation to rest up before his hard work starts with the NFL Draft...I miss his funny fan videos and script writer....and Friday's Q's & A's....His co-host Perna on The GPS Sports Shows gets on my nerves and Perna at times gets a bit raunchy too...Tom would be better off doing his sports discussion show solo JMHO!!

One reason why I think these sports media guys want attention right now is due to the fact as of April 1st (how appropriate April Fools Day) ALL employees of ESPN and The NFL Network are now one, so as individual contracts come up a decision will need to be made as whether the person will stay or go!!!

One dilemma coming up is  Adam Schefter vs Ian Rapoport Ian makes a lot less than Adam so it will be interesting to see who stays or is cut, or whether they keep both????

Boy is it raining here....it looks like I live near a river 77 for the high today....supposed to be 64 for a high for Easter with more rain....we need the rain badly!!!! More high 60 temps for coming week 😁

Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

As more and more networks merge, jobs become scarcer, and those in the jobs now will fight to keep them. They don't have to invent stuff about Hurts. There are enough controversial idiots in the league to keep things going.

Chad Reuter's latest mock draft has the Giants taking RB Jermiyah Love at five. Eh, he may not have noticed this, but the Giants don't value RBs very highly. Ask Saquon. Use a top-five pick on a RB when you have lots of other needs? If they do, it's a Harbaugh pick, and not the GM's.

He has the Eagles taking WR Makai Lemon at 23 with safeties Dillon Thieneman and Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board. He does have the Eagles taking McNeil-Warren at 53 in the second round, but I'd be surprised if he hung around that long.

I still think the Eagles' priorities will be TE, safety, corner, and edge. If a speed receiver falls to them, then great, but I don't think that's a top priority for them in the draft. At 23, they'll be taking whichever one of those guys they have ranked the highest.

Our weather is about to enter the fake spring period. From this coming Friday on, the long-range forecast has every night in the low to mid-fifties or higher. Yeah. Perfect planting weather! Until we get the late April to mid-May cold snap. Local garden centers make a fortune taking advantage of early planters who end up buying their plants twice after that first planting gets zapped by a frost. It's mid-May most years before you can be comfortable putting plants out. You can sometimes cheat things a few weeks if the long-range forecast looks good, but the weather in NJ is predictably unpredictable.

Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

Happy Easter to all of you and your kitties from Bella and me!

@Spurt - first of all, what an adorable pic of that kitty with the bunny ears!  Too cute!  Agree with you on the Spurs - a "boring" team always!  But in a good way!  As you said, they all get along and you never read anything bad about them!  Thank goodness that time they dumped Kawhi!  He didn't deserve to be on the team!

The local sports guy out of Philly, John Clark, has again been posting stuff on Jalen from other sports personnel!  The one is Jeff McLane and I forget the other guy's name who supposedly is a national reporter.  McLane is wih the Philly Inquirer.  Never heard of him nor the other guy who posted comments.  Why are they doing this?  Ridiculous!  Support the players instead of the negativity!  I'm glad the fans are coming back in their posts and supporting Jalen and not happy with the posts!

As @gardenman said, yes, our "fake" spring.  But if people are planting now they are just dumb, as on the news, they're always stating to not plant anything until almost mid-May!  Yesterday it was almost 80 and as I write, only 47 and a very miserable ugly day!  Next few days only 40's and low 50's.  Showing starting on Thursday, to begin warming up and then many days out, in the 60's and 70's, so maybe we'll be done with the "colder" weather?  We shall see!  We had the most horrible winter here and March was whacky too!

And a Happy Easter to all....and the kitties too--Bella, Slate, and Simone 😼

@PARedbird Heart breaking loss by the Spurs in Denver, they led most of the way....but Denver at home sent the game into overtime and got the win 😢, the Spurs had their chance but rushed their shots....of course "coach" Mitch did his usual poor job 😡...Oh well, hopefully the Spurs get their 60th win of the season next game.....

After a brief stint with the Jags, 26 yr old WR Dyami Brown is back with Washington, he's healthy and said “I kinda understand the game a little bit more than what I have in the past,” Brown said. “I took the steps to learn from other people like Jakobi Myers, BTJ [Brian Thomas Jr.] and even...the quarterback, Trevor [Lawrence]. That kind of took the game to another level and a different viewpoint for me.”

24 yr old Safety Nick Cross is a FA that was signed that I'm anxious to see...He’s  a run-stopping defender with athleticism, speed and explosiveness, lots of untapped potential....his ability to get to the quarterback from the secondary is another valuable skill. He's also valuable as a special teamer.

Dan Quinn also mentioned that he expects DT Jer’Zhan “Johnny” Newton to take off this yr.

Re: NFL News and Notes for April 2026!!!

@Spurt  - ugh!  That stinks about the Spurs!  Forgot to tell you, the other day Chris Suchan posted a gorgeous pic of the blue bonnets on FB!  He said it was near a Dunkin' at 1604 and Blanco.  The patch oSmiley Sadf them was huge!  How very much I miss them.  Smiley Sad

And here is something very interesting that Seth Joyner posted on "X".  I don't have that, but it was also posted on the one Eagles FB page:

Funny, every media person across the nation has a "SOURCE" in th Eagles building!  If it ain'ts the AJ Brown trade talk, it's the Jalen Hurts is the problem!  Everyone covering the NFL has some insider knowledge or opinions!  No you don't!  You ain't got "poop but click bait!  Shut the "f**** up and let Lurie and Roseman make the moves they deem necessary to better the team!  Every day someone's throwing "poop" against the wall and hoping something sticks!  For what, so you can I told you so?  Enough!

Good for him!  Of course I changed a few of the words he said or else this would be deleted!
