Call Customer Service. It says it's heavier than it should be for the size. My guess (I own several of those bags) is because the chains are what helps make it heavy.

I like the brand. I've had to send back at least 3 or 4 of them because of the clamps (tiny screws on the clamps come undone).

Interesting - this post is allowed but talking about upcoming AND existing Dooney bags is not allowed..... Logic??

Actually on this particular bag it's not the chains on the long handle that have the weight. I took that part off since I won't be using it with the shoulder straps. I may be the other gold metal that is on the bag that holds it together that is the weighty part. Its such a beautiful bag I will adjust to the weight of it. I own a Dooney bag that is even heaver and I'd prefer to carry this beautiful Mushroom Multi than even that one.
