I like the Sketchers you chose.  I might have to get a pair :-)

I wasn't "in love" with either pair, but they both looked functional.

Ended up ordering these from Kohl's.  I had lots of Kohl's cash to spend.   Both reasonably priced.   Hoping for the best.

Thanks for the input.

First pair is a Clarks in wide.

Hi @Witchy Woman Nice shoes!  How did the Clarks fit?  I used to have luck with them, but lately, my toes have no room.  I have big toes and a tall foot, but thin ankles, so some wides that accommodate the front of my foot come right off as I walk.  Buying wide shoes is such a chore.  Earth are good but not Earth Origins, which have small toe boxes. My Skechers are a godsend, because they are stretchy for a comfort fit, easy on and off.  But not that stylish, and no arch support.  I used to love Vionic, but their toe boxes seem smaller and smaller.  Vionic sandals are good.  Looking to experiment with new brands...

The Clarks are fine, but I will not be able to wear really thick socks with them.  I did order some Bomba socks and a brand call Ozone socks that are colorful, but not fluffy thick.

The only drawback with the Clarks is they are suede, so I'll want to spray them with a protectant first.  They seems comfy.

The Skechers will be my everyday shoe.  Very light weight and fit securely.  But, again, no heavy socks.  I'm going to try them out today.   They were not a wide shoe, but have a fabric upper and will give more than the suede ones I think.

If they are comfy, I might get another pair as it is still available in taupe.

There was a time when I could walk into Walmart, buy a pair of 8/12 anything and they were fine.  I used to buy multiple pairs of their black "patent leather" heels and keep them under my desk at work.

No more.

I'll post back on the comfort level of the Skechers.

Oh, I have Vionic sandles and Earth Origins in my closet.  Will try those Earth Origins again with thinner socks.

Skechers are perfect.  Wore them out grocery shopping.

Also dug out my Earth Origins scrunched ankle boots.  Tried them on with my thinner socks = perfection.

I think the key for me is thinner socks.  I wear an 8 1/2, but not wide (normally).  If I wear a heavy sock, my toes get squeezed.

However, the Skecher relaxed fit will be my go-to shoes for the winter.

Not a fan of Crocs...I have one pair of leather clogs and they are comfortable.

However, I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes when I put them on.

Thankfully, the Skechers and Clarks and my rediscovered Earth Origins boots will hold me for several years.

My foot is slightly wide across the front.  The problem with wide shoes is that they are wide EVERYWHERE, therefore I try to find a medium width shoe that runs just slightly wide.  Not helpful, I know.

No, it is helpful, and exactly the problem I have.  I need a roomy toebox, but my foot is thin and a purely wide shoe flops around.

Those Relaxed fit Skechers don't work in the summer when I don't wear socks, but they are perfect now.

Also, I have some very rounded toe Clark wedges that are a bit dressier and I've worn them for years.

Thankfully, I'm not going out much and don't need many shoes like I did when I worked.

I still need to purge my closet of many shoes that no longer work for my lifestyle.

Same issue, @Witchy Woman and @faeriemoon, I am wide at the toes and thin at the heels and ankles.  I used stretchers with my suede Vionics.  Whether stretching will work or not is hard to predict.  Summer sandals are easier than other shoes.  For cold weather, suede is easier to stretch, and I prefer in looks at well.  No faux leather, which I find unforgiving on my feet.
