Most people dress according to what they like.

I never wear dresses, so of course, I don't like the look.

But some people would.  Everyone has different tastes.

 @itsmagic  My granddaughter and her friend now wear the white sneakers I gave her shoe polish and cleaner for them! They seem to be replacing Vans. 
  I'm glad I have a few new pair of white Aesics for Spring!

White sneakers? Mmmmmmm. Nope

When I was working, I traveled a lot and consequently got travel tips and updates from the US State Department regularly. One thing that was mentioned consistently was to avoid wearing white sneakers/athletic shoes when traveling abroad as that practically screamed "I'm an American!". I've worn dark athletic shoes ever since.

My 10 year old grandson started wearing white sneakers this year ! I was surprised , must be in at school ! He is usually on top of things .

I don't think white sneakers have ever gone away.  I see them worn with everything by everyone of every age.

They  are especially trending now and there are more options..some are pretty cute.

I don't wear sneakers often because they make my feet burn. I do have a few pairs for when I absolutely must wear them, but no way would I wear black sneakers.  They scream old lady IMO.
