Re: Which handbag has the softest leather EVA???????

I refuse to purchase another B Mak. While my first impression was positive, the love quickly faded. It did not hold up well.

Bottega Veneta - even though the snob in me prefers Chanel I truly love all of my Bottega bags. If only I could find a grey one I bought many years ago -- it isn't in the handbag closet so I don't know where it is! LOL

A nappa leather bag I got from coach years ago (close to 10 or 15 years back). I don't believe they sell nappa leather bags anymore.

For me it's B. Mak, I have his black suede hobo and it's very soft and lush. I also own a Patrician Nash hand bag that reminds me of florentine leather, it's one of those bags that you can just throw it around and scratch it up and it still looks great.

I have a OrYani Hobo that is the softest, most yummy leather that I own.

Re: Which handbag has the softest leather EVA???????

I bought most of my BMaks years ago when he was first on the Q. Off the top of my head I have 6-7 of his bags and they're still as beautiful as the day I purchased them. I purchased an OrYani satchel and the leather doesn't hold up to BMaks...plus the zipper on the satchel was HORRIBLE. To close or open it was a labor of herky-jerky motions, and the lining wasn't attached at the bottom. The zipper and the lining is what had me returning that bag and fearful to try anything else from that line. My Cole Haan bags are made from really nice leathers, and the totes have the soft squishy leather similar to BMaks.

Since you love soft "like butta" leather hobos, I recommend you check out Hayden Harnett's Havana bag. The designer, Toni Hacker, has a studio in NYC. The leathers are fantastic, especially the Havana style. Fans of the line love the "Hayden Harnett Puddle" which is what most of their iconic bags do when you set them down...they settle into a puddle of wonderful, buttery leather. However, pay attention to which style bag and leather. Some of their newest satchels are in Saffiano leather, which you would not like because it is a stiffer leather. I can't seem to post a pic without it coming in huge, so below is the link to the image. The spring/summer Havana comes in natural, black, racy red, (all with gold hardware) and white with rose gold hardware.

Some of Issac's slouchier bags are also worth considering... very soft leather.

As for linings that don't stay put, I hate them, and for a semi-expensive, middle of the road brand, none in my experience have been worse than BMak.
