When I was in the Dooney store earlier in the week, I noticed that some of the Florentine leather handbags have a very smooth, matte, fine grain, while others are significantly more pebbled.

And much to my surprise, I picked the more pebble one! Two handbags, same style, same color (red).... and the more pebbled one looked nicer to me and showed much fewer marks. The pebbled one had been on display (who knows for how long or short a time) and the smoother grained one came right out of the stock room wrapped in plastic.

The differences in the leather made it look like they were made of different leathers. Both were beautiful, and I might make a different choice next time, different style, different color, and different pieces of leather.

The black toggle sac I selected (after looking at 3 different colors) was the smoother leather. None of the choices in this style, in any color, was pebbled.
