WHY oh why does MY bid go thru??

on ebay and get the 'urge' and bid,,,,,just minimal, and THEN I win. sorry to gripe, but I get the 'auction' bug and bid and then regret it not long after. I'm trying to get better, but how do you ladies do this??? any secrets as to curb yourself in?
