Vionic Tide Sandal

[ Edited ]

We went on vacation. I grabbed a pair of Vionic Tide sandals because there is a beach. I was walking a short distance and the sole of the sandals became disconnected from the bed of the sandal. The glue must have come undone.

I have bought at least 5 pairs of these sandals. And only wear them once a year on vacation. Now I am  not sure this will happen to all the other sandals. The sandals look like they were not worn. The "thread" looks brand new.  And so does the ribbon between the toes.

Has anyone found this to be common? I almost fell because I did not realise that the sole had gone undone. And I am debating whether to throw out all the Vionic sandals.

@drizzellla

Is this a rubber Vionic sandal?  That's the only kind I would wear if they were going to get wet.  Maybe I misunderstood and you were just walking on the sand away from the water?

Yes, it is rubber.

I was not walking anywhere near water. We were walking from our hotel to the local bakery. The sandals were fine the first time we walked to the bakery. They stayed together with trip #1. And fell apart with trip #2.

(We walked to the bakery and found that it didn't open until 8 AM. So walked back to our room. And walked back closer to 8 AM.)

The sandals never made it to the beach.

@drizzellla Wow.  Maybe a shoe repair shop can glue them back together.  Vionics aren't cheap.Woman Sad

That is what I wanted to do.But I am worried about the other pairs falling apart too (as I am walking). Now I am wondering why I bought so many. (Maybe because I am an impulse buyer.)

My husband was ready to just throw them out. He has no idea how much I paid for them.

I have a pair of Vionic Tides that have been demoted to  my "garage shoe".  I purchased them circa 2014 &  wore them regularly for the first few years. They're still in tact & in good shape- great for getting the mail, putsing around in the driveway etc.
I don't know how old yours are, maybe they're not made as well as they were in the past?

Ha! Ha! I have "those" type of shoes at every exit of our house.

I was trying to figure out their age. But I discovered that I had bought the same style and color on several pairs. So not sure how I would figure out which were newer than the other pair. They all look like they hadn't been worn much. The tread looks brand new.

@drizzellla

I must have over 40 Vionics and I wear them all.

Since I have so many, they do not get worn constantly.  I change them up.

Some are incredibly old from when the line first appeared at Q.  Really old.

I don't wear slippers, I wear Vionics.

I have never had that happen ever.

Why throw away expensive sandals just because something 'might' happen?
