Shoes

Has anyone purchased men's shoes for a woman?  I am asking for opinions as to whether they fit the same and just the size needs to be adjusted. For example, a mens' 7 is a womens' 9.  Thanks.

@hgsuddle   I think you have it right.  When I was married a hundred years ago, my husband wore a men's size 7 (small guy), and I wore a women's size 9 (small girl with big feet).  I could put his shoes on and they were the right length, but because I have flat, skinny feet, they were way too wide on me......especially in the heel.  A man's last should be shaped differently than a woman's, but if you have very wide feet, it might work for you.
